Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Heard.
Hi Jonathan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story many times it’s hard to believe I’m still here to even talk about it, but just a brief walk through of my life, my father was a Pastor and founder of Love Chapel C.O.G.I.C sadly he passed away when I was just 13 years old, I believe his passing developed an anger in me that resulted in me looking for peace and joy in everything but God, drugs, alcohol multiple women.
What I’m grateful for is that as far as I fell into my own thoughts and pain it was like God never took his hands off of me, around 2010 I gave my life to Christ, although it was difficult allowing God to transform me into what I am now, one thing that was always present was Gods grace and mercy. Eventually in 2016 I accepted my call to the ministry and preached my first sermon June 5th 2016.
Ministry has been a blessing but it has also challenged me in ways unimaginable, and what I mean by that is that, it made me finally face the fear the doubt and. Everything else attached to it that has always kept me from becoming who God desired for me to be.
In March of 2023 I was installed as Pastor of Love Chapel COGIC which in September of that same year became Born Favored Ministries. Same Mission Same Goal, winning souls for the kingdom of God.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hasn’t been a smooth road at all, but in purpose especially a purpose that God has his hands on it’ll never be smooth, neither is it supposed to be. One of my greatest struggles has always been the struggle of Me Vs Me,
Self doubt is a real thing even when you know what God has showed you is possible when you trust and believe in me. I think may times we’ll use the excuse nobody supports me, just to get out of the fear of moving forward in what God has showed us.
This year has showed me that if God be for you who can be against you? Faith creates momentum that destroys every weapon formed against you, God never promised that weapons wouldn’t hurt, he promised us that they wouldn’t prosper.
We’ve been impressed with Born Favored Ministries., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Born Favored Ministries is a ministry that has moves in the spirit of unity, our Main focus and goal is to share the love of God at such a level that those who have always felt rejected and unloved, feel his love through all of us at Born Favored Minsitries.
Our mission is to win souls to Christ by displaying the love of Christ to all.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
