Alexa Burton of Cleveland on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alexa Burton. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Alexa, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Honestly, my cats make me laugh every single day. They’re pure chaos in fur form. But lately, I’ve also felt really proud of myself for how far I’ve come creatively. There was a time when I second guessed everything I posted, and now I’m finally trusting my instincts and having fun with it again. It feels good to create from joy instead of pressure.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Alexa Burton. I’m a beauty and curvy fashion creator who loves mixing confidence, humor, and realness into everything I share. I’m passionate about helping people feel good in their own skin through honest reviews, fun style inspo, and a little self-love along the way.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Both my mom and my boyfriend of eight years have shaped how I see myself in such meaningful ways. My mom taught me strength, independence, and how to stay soft even when life gets hard. My boyfriend taught me what unconditional love actually feels like. The kind that sees you at your worst and still chooses you every day. Together, they helped me realize I can be strong and gentle, confident and cared for, all at once.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You don’t have to earn your softness or prove your worth to anyone. You were always enough. Even on the days you felt invisible or too much. One day, you’re going to look back and realize that every version of you was just trying to love and survive the best she could. Be proud of her. She got you here. And she was never behind. She was just blooming in her own time

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That being “too much” is actually a beautiful thing. For so long, I tried to tone myself down. My personality, my opinions, even my style. All just to make other people comfortable. But the truth is, your energy, passion, and individuality aren’t flaws to fix. They’re your power. I genuinely believe that when you stop shrinking yourself, you attract the people and opportunities meant for the real you. So now, I take up space, wear the bold lipstick, say what I mean, and live out loud, because being too much just means you’re fully alive.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I made them feel seen, like they didn’t have to pretend around me. I want to be remembered as someone who showed up fully as herself, even when it wasn’t easy, and encouraged others to do the same. I hope they talk about how I loved loudly, laughed often, and turned even the messiest moments into something meaningful. More than anything, I hope they say being around me made life feel a little lighter, a little warmer, and a lot more real.
