An Inspired Chat with Sierra Upshaw of Cleveland

Sierra Upshaw shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
The simple stuff brings me joy. Pink nail polish, flowers by my window, a new snack (extra points if it’s vegan). Just being a girl. I’m legit excited for season six of RHOSLC. That’s really my show for real.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello world! I’m an actress, writer and an overall creative. Magic lies in authenticity so my brand is based on that. I’ve been lock in for years fine tuning my artistry while growing as a women. I’m looking forward to releasing films, fashion and more in 2026. Hopefully you’ll stay tuned for the official launch of my production company: UPSHAW. I’m so excited to share my work!!!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believed my sensitivity was a flaw. Thank God for clarity. Sensitivity is a such a gift! Sensitivity helps me as a women, a teacher and an artist. My sensitive natures makes my life a lot fuller. Now I’m able to see pass the layers and actually connect with the world around me. I’m grateful.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I left LA believing I failed. Living there was the worst. Recovering from living there was hard too. I was defeated. Without Hollywood, how would my dreams come true? Over time, I realized that “dream” wasn’t what I really wanted anyway. Isolation actually helped me to connect back to my truest desires. I’m ready to create my own world. My mind was set when I learned about the human trafficking of children and just how connected Hollywood is to that evil. It’s not just Hollywood though: entities on all levels are involved. If this world allows children to be traumatized I know I don’t stand a chance here. So I’m leaving the world behind! There’s no desire in me to conform to any previous path. For what? I was meant to create my own way and that’s exactly what I’m doing. Finally, I can see how to work my circumstances for my benefit. After years of standing on my own I am ready to thrive like never before.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Definitely. Switching up personas seems exhausting. Plus, I have really good energy so it’s easy to be myself anywhere I go.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that everything is changing. People feel the shift too but can’t quite put the words to it. It’s a subtle yet ever-present sense that something is off. It’s not just economical or political. It’s spiritual. It’s a new beginning. When humanity wakes up to the actual world we live in our entire sense of reality will transform. Buckle up.
