An Inspired Chat with Vitality

Vitality shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Vitality, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been reading books more. Idk it’s something about the fall. that provides this calm, peaceful energy. On days when Im off work. I’ll grab a glass of wine. & a book and I’m good. I’m also a “foodie” Which I also thinks has a lot to do with the fall lol.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name Is Vitality,

I am a rapper, singer, model, poet, & actor.
I have a new podcast that will be dropping october 10th on Spotify. Where I will interviewing different guest getting their take on things they’ve had to overcome. Generally, My brand is centered around art, healing & entertainment. I like to look at myself as an artist not necessarily an influencer. Even though art is very influential.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ve been a lot of different versions of myself. Considering my journey & growth. Especially when I look back at the me that was in survival mode, trying to please those who were close to me. To the now me who understands prioritizing my personal needs as a necessity. The world had thoughts in mind when it came to who they thought I should be. Fortunately I’m a very authentic person, especially when it comes to the way I think. Being misunderstood growing up made me not scared to take calculated risk. To live In my truth & help others do the same. In a world where people have strong opinions of who you should be. You have to always listen to your inner voice. & as cliche as it sounds, follow your heart.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That I am the strongest person I know.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
A lot of quote on qoute “smart people” assume the biggest goal in life is to be the smartest. But a lot of people forget the key factors of simply being genuine. We debate amongst each other, with the intentions to feel as if we are superior to the people who are still learning, which we all still are. Sadly Instead of genuinely teaching each other. A lot of smart people could benefit from simply being “genuine”

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Empathy, It takes a disciplined person to be able to forgive and or seek to understand someone that is hurting you. Rather intentionally or unintentionally. More or less alot of people operate out of survival mode. Comparing & competing with the next individual. When some of us are here simply to inspire. Sadly alot of people can’t share empathy with other people bc it was never shown to them. & that’s where I’m different.
