We’re looking forward to introducing you to Raivon Don’tez . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Raivon , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing my dreams of being a successful Alternative Rap Artist. In this pursuit, I aim to revolutionize my genre and to really put myself and others like me on the map as well. I feel like if I stopped chasing after my dreams, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. Because as a artist who has started his journey in 2018, I feel as though that I’ve come way to far and overcame too much to quit now. Especially since this journey has always gave me a purpose in life to keep going. So I have no doubt in my mind that im in this ride for the long haul.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi my name is Raivon Don’tez and I am a alternative rap artist from Cincinnati ohio. I like to blend rap, metal and punk rock into a perfect dysfunctional amalgamation. Some of my many inspirations for my craft are Nicki Minaj,Tyler the Creator,Rico Nasty,Busta Rhymes and Eminem. I also take a lot of inspiration from Video Games, Comic books and Anime as well. I Currently have a Ep that is out now titled Wanna Play Vol.3: Let The Games Begin (The DLC EDITION). And I also just recently released my new single titled Pecking Order as well.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of truly feeling powerful was back in 2020 in the middle of quarantine. When I had to look myself in the mirror and truly become the true version of myself and unapologetically show that to the world. Which led me to change my sound as a artist and become the alternative rap artist that you all see today. That moment also birthed my moniker K.O.T.M (King of The Moshpit).
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
The thing that suffering has taught me that success couldn’t was vulnerability and humility. And honestly those two factors have played a huge part in my craft as musician. Because it has taught me that you’re not gonna win all the time in this game and that you’re gonna have some losses. And with those losses you have to be able embrace that vulnerability to truly push through those moments.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I feel that my closest friends would probably say that my music really matters to me. Because they have seen first hand how seriously I take my craft as a whole. And I am truly blessed to have them see my rise from 2018 to 2025. And to have their support 100 percent. Because music matters so much to me, it has been that one thing that has kept me going in this crazy world that we live in.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When its all said and I done, I want people to tell everyone that I was revolutionary, iconic and truly one of a kind. I want to be remembered as a artist who changed the entire landscape of his genre as a whole. And someone who was unapologetically himself. And went against the grain.
