Today we’d like to introduce you to Fulya Dos.
Hi Fulya , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
OneLove Café and Bike Shop was born from a shared vision to create an inclusive space that brings together coffee and international flavor lovers, cyclists, and runners alike.
We are four partners in this adventure, but two women, Asu and Fulya, are the driving force and main stakeholders behind the vision. Asu, a statistics professor with a deep passion for coffee and global cuisines, and Fulya, a children’s clinical therapist who is also an avid cyclist (and sometimes racer), decided to blend their worlds together.
With the encouragement and support of our partners, this dream came to life quickly from idea to reality in what felt like no time. Our team of baristas, bike shop staff, and owners have truly become a family.
OneLove is not your typical café or bike shop. It’s a community hub. It’s a place where people come to connect, host events, join rides, and simply enjoy being part of something bigger.
As women and minority owners, we are exhaustingly proud of what we’ve built and deeply grateful for the community that continues to grow around us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From cyclists and coffee lovers to many fellow business owners in town. While some were understandably cautious at first, given the number of coffee shops already here in Granville, we hope they’ve come to see our unique role and spirit. OneLove isn’t about competition; it’s about collaboration.
Overall, it’s been a smooth journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re especially proud of our bike shop. Our lead mechanic, who relocated from Philadelphia to join our team, brings a wealth of knowledge and years of hands-on experience. We can confidently say he’s among the best bike mechanics in the U.S.. He is capable of fixing just about anything and building fully customized bikes to fit each rider’s unique needs.
Beyond his expertise, he’s passionate about sharing his skills with others. He regularly offers free flat repair and basic maintenance classes, helping cyclists feel more confident and self-sufficient on the road. His efficiency is unmatched, even during busy times like Pelotonia, no bike has ever waited more than five days for repair.
We’re also very proud of our bike rental program, which stands out for its quality. We offer only high-end Cannondale bikes, with options ranging from gravel and cruiser bikes to e-bikes. Every rental is available for a full 24 hours and carefully tuned before it goes out — ensuring each rider enjoys the best experience possible.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is in the moments we see our name out in public, hear cyclists talk about OneLove, or watch new faces walk through our doors. Those are the moments that remind us why we started this journey.
Looking ahead, we hope to continue growing to hire more staff, expand our operations, and offer even more variety in both our café / catering menu and event space. Every step forward means more opportunities to connect, create, and give back to the community that has supported us from day one.
