An Inspired Chat with Timothy Reynolds Jr of Fairfax

We recently had the chance to connect with Timothy Reynolds Jr and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Timothy, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What battle are you avoiding?
Oh man, that I’m my biggest enemy honestly. Nobody but God himself and me can stop whatever visions I have for my life and creative career. Learning how to move out your own way is a huge battle and also seems like an endless one

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tim Reynolds Jr, and I’m the Co-founder of Pray4ThePrey, a brand built on resilience and transformation. Our mascot, the vulture, represents turning what’s left behind into strength — a reminder that even from scraps, you can create something powerful. Through cut-and-sew pieces and collections that evolve season by season, we tell a story of survival, grit, and authenticity. Pray4ThePrey isn’t just clothing — it’s a symbol for those who refuse to fold, finding beauty and power in struggle. Right now, we’re working on expanding our collection to push our storytelling even further, bringing our community pieces that feel personal, organic, and lasting.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I could do anything! Childlike innocence is important to maintain. Once it’s gone you can never get that back

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure! I was Suppose to move to Atlanta in 2012-2013 but was too afraid that I’d leave Ohio and fall on my face. I wish I would have taken that leap way back then but you live and learn. Have to trust the talents God gave you

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Now it is. For years I wore a mask trying to be something and someone I’m not to appease to certain individuals. Then I realized the very thing I thought would help boost me is what’s holding me back. Real people want authenticity not some fabricated character

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stressing over what people think for sure. It’s been my biggest flaw ya know. We fall into what people expect of us way too much. If I only had 10 years left on this Earth, I’d live it how I wanted. No question.
