We recently had the chance to connect with Shawn Douglas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shawn, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I feel as an artist it’s a lot of negative perception people see you in. They rather think about the lifestyle portion other than seeing you as a human. We’re not all doing drugs, promoting violence we also have real lives as in taking care of my child, going to work, even working on multiple businesses. You don’t have to go out every weekend or do things that would be “the life” there’s a different way of living for everyone I enjoy being alone and working on things that would bring me multiple forms of income.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an artist that goes by the name of S.A.I.N.T in Ohio based I currently have more than 80 million streams. I think what separates me is my consistency in my work and my sound is original and unique. I bring mainstream sounds mixed with an underground rap and RnB mix. Which causes me to stand out from others in my industry.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest memory of feeling powerful is when my son was born. As a father or a man I feel like you know your true power and wealth when you have to provide for someone other than yourself.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Being understood is probably my biggest fear because of my 30 years of life most people don’t understand me because they’re not in my purpose it’s just for me no one else. But not being understood is my biggest fear because I believe I have inputs others need in their lives.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Being a father because that’s all I care about is my child’s wellbeing and just want to give him everything I never had growing up I know that’s cliche but it’s the truth.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was one of the hardest workers they knew.
