Story & Lesson Highlights with Krissy p.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Krissy p.. Check out our conversation below.

Krissy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Honestly, I am more than just following a path—I feel like I’m planting the foundation for something bigger. Graduating from nursing school isn’t just a milestone; it’s the launch point for building something of my own. I’m working toward becoming a cosmetic nurse injector, and to me, that’s about more than clinical skills. It’s about building a brand, a reputation, and ultimately an empire rooted in trust, artistry, and innovation. I may be new, but I have a vision—and every step I take now is helping shape that legacy I am investing into my cosmetic brand.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Krissy P — and I’m building beauty from both sides: artistry and aesthetics.

I’ve been in the cosmetic world for over 10 years now, and my journey has been rooted in passion, growth, and reinvention. I graduated from Paul Mitchell the School of Cincinnati in 2014, where I earned my cosmetology license. From there, I sharpened my skills at high-end makeup counters, working hands-on with clients and learning how to blend technique with creativity.

One of the most pivotal parts of my career was my time with M.A.C Cosmetics. I became certified in multiple areas as an artist and built a strong client base that really fueled my momentum. Eventually, I branched off and created my own brand — Let’s Get Pretty. What started as a freelance makeup business evolved into *Let’s Get Pretty Cosmetics*, my own cruelty-free beauty line featuring lashes, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and glosses. It’s been an incredible experience growing a brand that’s rooted in confidence and self-expression.

Most recently, I took a big leap and completed nursing school. I’ve earned my associate’s degree and am preparing to take the NCLEX soon. Now, I’m working toward becoming a cosmetic nurse injector — combining my years of beauty experience with clinical knowledge. My goal is to offer services like Botox, facial balancing, and advanced aesthetic treatments that empower clients from the inside out.

This next chapter is all about blending my artistic foundation with medical aesthetics — and I’m so excited to continue building. Keep an eye out… Let’s Get Pretty Cosmetics is just getting started.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My wife. She believes in me in a way that I sometimes struggle to believe in myself. She pours so much love, faith, and encouragement into me — especially in moments when I feel overwhelmed. I’ve had opportunities to do interviews on local radio stations and even the news, and while those moments are exciting, they’ve also triggered intense anxiety for me. But she’s learned how to meet me in those moments with calm and grounding energy. She just talks to me, reassures me, and reminds me of who I am and what I’m capable of.

She says things like, “You’ve got this. This is your calling.” And the way she says it? I believe her. Her support means everything to me, and I’m truly thankful to have her in my corner.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, humility, and resilience in a way success never could. When you’re struggling — whether it’s financially, mentally, or emotionally — you’re forced to sit with yourself and figure out who you really are without the titles, the applause, or the external validation.

There were times I doubted everything: my path, my purpose, even my abilities. But those low moments taught me how to keep going even when no one was watching, how to believe in my vision when there was no visible progress. Success can feel amazing, but it doesn’t always come with the same depth. Suffering taught me how to fight for what I want, to find strength in silence, and to stay grounded no matter what’s happening around me.

It built character. It deepened my faith. And it showed me that my purpose is bigger than any obstacle I face.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh, 100%. What you see is exactly what you get — no filters, no mystery. I’m a Virgo, so grey areas don’t exist in my world. I’m either all in or all out, no in-between. I’m the same person behind closed doors as I am in front of a crowd: outspoken, honest, and maybe a little too real at times. If I have something to say, trust me… I’ll say it. I’m basically an open book — just with a little sparkle, some strong opinions, and probably a lash glue in my purse.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What false labels are you still carrying?
A false label I’ve carried is that I’m self-absorbed or a “mean girl.” The truth is, I’m just direct. I speak honestly, and I don’t believe in sugarcoating or saying things just to protect someone’s ego. That can be misunderstood, especially by people who are more comfortable with surface-level interactions or flattery.

But being real doesn’t make you mean — it makes you trustworthy. I hold myself and others to a standard of authenticity. I care deeply, and I always come from a place of honesty, not harm. I’ve learned that people often project their discomfort with truth onto others, and I’ve had to grow through that without letting it change who I am.
