Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Rajcsak.
Hi Anna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey began at a young age watching my mom create beautiful florals for family members weddings. Fast forward to 2021, I DIY’d my own wedding flowers plus a couple close friends, and fell in love with the process of bringing unique floral visions to life. At the start of 2023, Story Floral Design (an ode to my maiden name + mother), was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t bee the easiest, as the same year I started Story Floral, I also had my first child. I then quickly had to learn how to balance working full-time, being a mom, and an entrepreneur. Juggling all of this at first was a challenge but quickly became rewarding and gave me a clear vision in the direction I wanted to take my business. No longer was it just a hobby/side-hussle, but it was a business that I wanted to see succeed and grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a wedding florist, I strive to use flowers to bring the story of my clients to life at their wedding. I do this by understanding my client’s history and their vision for their wedding. Ultimately, their vision is a reflection of them and who they are. I then build a color story and select blooms that connect their vision to the color story and design aesthetic. Something that sets Story Floral apart from others is that my goal is to create something unique for each client. I do this by creating a custom experience for each client. I am seeing clients come to us for our unique floral forward, textural, and colorful design aesthetic.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
As a business owner, networking is what has grown my business, and I believe the strongest asset to my business is the relationships I have built with other business owners and clients. As a mostly wedding-focused business, this last year I became a member of WIPA, Wedding Industry Professionals Association. One, the networking events are incredible. Two, the connections I have made have been invaluable. As a florist, seeking out freelancing opportunities with other local wedding florists has also helped me learn and grow, plus given me friends who in many ways turn into mentors or at least people I can go to when I need help.
