Hi Ameerah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Approximately 18 years ago, while I was running a wound care center in San Antonio, TX, a client was so impressed with how I managed his psoriasis that he encouraged me to open a medispa. At the time, I had never even heard the term before. But his comment planted a seed, and it quietly became my “If I ever win the lottery” dream.
Over the next 16 years, I kept that dream alive—researching, learning, and immersing myself in everything I could find about medispas and the aesthetics industry. I didn’t win the lottery, but life took an unexpected turn. After my mom passed away, I received an inheritance that gave me the financial cushion to finally take the leap. I left my last employer and committed to launching my business full time.
It’s been a journey fueled by passion, persistence, and a deep desire to help others feel confident in their own skin—just like I did for that first client all those years ago.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path to opening my business was far from easy. I had no roadmap and had to figure everything out from scratch—how to legally form the business, navigate licensing and compliance, and build a brand in a highly regulated and competitive industry. Finding trustworthy suppliers, securing a suitable location, and eventually hiring the right team were all huge hurdles. Each step came with a steep learning curve and moments of doubt.
But I kept going. What got me through was the belief in the care I could offer and the lives I could impact. Today, I’m proud of what I’ve built—not just the medispa itself, but the resilience and purpose behind it
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my medispa, I specialize in results-driven skin health and aesthetic treatments that combine medical expertise with a personalized, compassionate approach. My background in wound care and dermatologic support gives me a deeper understanding of skin function and healing, which influences everything I do—from treating acne and pigmentation to managing more complex conditions like psoriasis and scarring.
I’m known for truly listening to my clients and treating them with care that goes beyond the surface. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I take the time to educate my clients and tailor treatments based on their unique skin needs, goals, and even their emotional well-being. That relationship-building and trust is something I deeply value.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve been able to make in people’s confidence and self-image. Seeing someone light up because they feel good in their skin is incredibly fulfilling. And knowing I built this business from the ground up, after years of dreaming, learning, and overcoming challenges, makes it all the more meaningful.
What sets me apart is the blend of clinical experience, personal passion, and a heart-centered approach. Clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and cared for in a way they haven’t experienced elsewhere—and that, to me, is the true success.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing the medispa in a way that stays true to the personalized care and integrity we’re known for. I’m currently exploring ways to expand our services and introduce new treatments that align with both medical science and holistic wellness. I’m also investing in continuing education—for myself and my team—so we can stay on the cutting edge of the aesthetics industry.
One of the big changes I’m planning for is eventually opening a second location or creating a training program to mentor others who are passionate about this work. I’d love to help bridge the gap between clinical skin care and spa aesthetics for the next generation of professionals.
What I’m most looking forward to is deepening the impact we make—not just through transformations on the outside, but by creating a space where people truly feel supported, empowered, and seen.
