Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Wilkes.
Hi Michael, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Mike had an idea to start a podcast on the Cleveland Browns. He went and got some equipment and started doing little shows after the game nothing intense. He saw Angel was doing Browns reels on Facebook and asked him if he’d like to jump on a podcast he has started. Angel and Mike started doing weekly shows without a name, then it hit us. Bearded Browns Podcast! That was what led us to bigger and better things. We then had a guest on our show by the name of Chad. Chad is well Dr. Chad and he runs a Browns Backers club out of California, That peaked our interest so we had him on the show to explain how backers clubs work. Mike and Angel enjoyed Chads knowledge of the Browns so we invited him to join the show and since it’s been great! Then there is Sam. The outgoing guy on the show that was in a band with Mike several years before. Mike asked Sam in the beginning if he’d like to be a part of the show. We all know life gets in the way of things, and we are now happy to have Sam, apart of the Bearded Browns family. We now have our team! We do live shows Tuesdays at 7:30pm and a Saturday show at 10am. We’re on all social media platforms, as well as doing shows on the road. Possible you’ll see us at the muni-lot this year. if you see us come up and talk some Cleveland Browns football. We’ve gained quite a following with our Browns antics and want you to be a part of it!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We’ve never really had struggles per say, it’s been more a learning curve for new social media platforms, how to gain followers, and make sure we’re working with the right people. Podcasting isn’t super easy. it’s almost like another job just to keep up with all the things that happen but we do it. We all work full-time job’s so time is not always on our side but we do our best to make everything happen. Now the Browns having a smooth road? Join us on the show to talk about that one. We are a Cleveland Browns podcast called Bearded Browns podcast. We bring you all the latest Browns news good and bad. We feel it’s our job to keep you up to date. We love talking Browns football; and we have had some great opportunities in our time of doing this. We have had some player interviews with LS Charlie Hughlett and We’re about to have a Draft party with our new DT Ralph Holley in attendance, and RB coach Stump Mitchell will join our live stream that night. We like to get as in depth as possible when it comes to this franchise but also try to add our twist of fun with it. Check out some of our lives and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Our sports teams/fanbase. Cleveland is one of the most diverse city’s as well as having such great food spots. So much to look forward to in Cleveland. Going to a Guardians, Cavs and Browns game is our favorite. We love Cleveland and it’s suburbs. We’re all about supporting local business as well. Honestly no dislikes. It’s such a beautiful city. Go explore it and take in all the greatness it has to offer.
