Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Balzano.
Hi Kaylee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Creativity has always been a part of who I am, even as a child. Though I never quite found a specific passion early on, I was always drawn to the idea of sewing—but never took the leap to learn. After my wedding, with extra time on my hands, I finally decided to invest in a sewing machine and teach myself. It didn’t take long before I fell in love with the process of creating beautiful, functional pieces and sharing them with friends and family. What started as a hobby has blossomed into a growing business, and I find so much joy in crafting products that people genuinely love and use.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t been entirely smooth—it’s been a steep learning curve. There’s a real pressure that comes with knowing people are spending their hard-earned money on my products; it pushes me to ensure everything I make meets the highest standards. Creating quality pieces takes a significant amount of time, and balancing that with personal time for myself, my family, and friends can be challenging. On top of that, participating in markets, while rewarding, can also be costly—and there’s never a guarantee you’ll make that investment back.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Every item I sell is thoughtfully handmade, using only top-quality materials to ensure durability, functionality, and style. I take great pride in the craftsmanship behind each piece, paying close attention to every stitch and detail. My specialty lies in creating beautifully designed makeup bags, versatile tote bags, and cozy book sleeves—each one made with care and intention. Whether it’s for everyday use or a thoughtful gift, my goal is to offer products that are not only practical but also bring a little joy to the people who use them.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me with this business is staying true to the passion that started it all—creating meaningful, high-quality pieces that people genuinely love and use. I want every customer to feel the care and intention behind each handmade item. It’s also incredibly important to me to maintain balance: growing a business while still being present for my family, nurturing my creativity, and staying connected to the joy of making. At the end of the day, it’s not just about selling products—it’s about building something real, personal, and lasting.
