Community Highlights: Meet Allie Skipper of Happy Girl Sweets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Skipper.

Hi Allie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Happy Girl Sweets around 2014. At the time it was Valentine’s Day Season and I was in desperate need of red of chocolate covered strawberries. However at the time my budget was a bit one the low side and I didn’t want to spend $40 on berries. So my curiosity got the best of me. I YouTubed how to make chocolate covered berries at home. After I went to the store, got home and started experimenting! I showcased my at home berries on social media. Next thing you know I got DMs inquiring about services! I was shocked!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road, no. I’ve experienced what many entrepreneurs have like doubt and fear. I’ve worried if my product was pretty enough or good enough to sell. It took me selling out at various Pop Up Markets to know that I am enough! Sometimes as entrepreneurs you have to force yourself to know that you’re great so you can continue to produce great products!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Happy Girl Sweets specializes in custom confections, home goods, and gourmet caramel apples. I cater baby showers, weddings, and special occasions. I’m known for my customer chocolate covered berries, cookies, pretzels, and so much more to make any event a treat!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
