Hi CoyyTheBoyy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well hello y’all! Before we get started. I just wanted to say thank you to Hidden Gems for giving me this opportunity to speak and express myself, so thank you guys for reaching and always putting new people onto new things and experiences!
Now let’s get it get started (lol) Heyy yall, It’s CoyyTheBoyy I’m an aspiring artist from Cleveland, Ohio born and raised. I started off writing poetry while I was in middle school. Worked on it thru high school and shared my thoughts and expressions with some friends and family around me. From there, Instagram became a thing… then I gained a following and started to post my poems as captions. What a fun time that was! Then we could start going live and I became cool with other like minds and showed my expression and love for poetry and music thru live video by having small poetry slams and talent shows on said lives. After having so many people on there showing love.
Some people I encountered asked me if I ever thought about making music?!? And I expressed to them that I love music. I haven’t made any but wanted to start. People started to ask me to transform my poem into raps or transform them into songs. So I started making music around 2018 releasing some tracks on SoundCloud! I used to go by the name Czo Kyn at the time. I also did a freestyle to Nicki Minaj’s Chun-Li and posted that to Instagram. And the comment went crazy (lol)
It was only right that I released it! But I made my own beat and rapped the freestyle over that. And released it to SoundCloud. I’m not sure if it’s still on there or not but it was pretty good! Then shortly after I made a song called “Get Tf Off My Porch” which was my most streamed song on SoundCloud. After that i took some time to work on myself and work on new vibes (songs) and work on myself! Fell in love but that’s not here or there. But I made a comeback after some tears and years and made a project called Marskyjupyterfloor! Which included artists Kostakane, and Chvsinn! Two great beings and my bruvas! Now we are here in 2025 with a lot more music out on all platforms!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course it has not been a smooth ride! But you keep your head up and never let the obstacles overcome the purpose! There has been many hoops and hurdles. But that hasn’t stopped me. People do not like to see you win but once they see you going for it they eventually will be out your way and will be behind you. I have no issues with being myself. People lack confidence, personality and energy. Or as I like to spell it NRG. I’m such a supporter for those around and sometimes even those I don’t even know. But it’s not always reciprocated but I’m not worried about that I know my time and rewards are coming sooner than later! And I will achieve greatness!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My artistry is more than just music and poems! I am currently writing an introductory book called “Galacticat” which i want to transform into a comic book series. Hopefully I can get it picked up by DC Comics. But what sets me apart from other artist and creatives is that I have a personality like no other! And I’m supportive of what people are trying to do especially in our local music scene! I make music for the baddies and the real ones! Bars and punchlines are there and so are the beats!! While everyone is talking about being a trapper… I speak on how your positivity and your personality could take you far with a pinch of sass and attitude.
Most will catch on right away and others it may take a little while but rest assured you will catch on! The confidence I have within myself comes from the most high God. My energy is unmatched, my personality is top tier and my voice will be heard! There’s nothing better than someone who has their own mind and voice to accomplish their goals! Many people try to silence me or wash me out. But I make moves and waves on my own! I don’t need a co-sign, I don’t need backup unlike some others! I don’t do this for clout, I do this to show the younger generation that if you continue to be yourself everything you want will follow!
What also sets me apart from other artists and creatives is that I’m creative with my hands. I make custom beaded jewelry, and I give massages! No happy endings. I’m a fun person to be around and not stuck up like most! You need something I gotcha! Very respectful, very fun, very CoyyTheBoyy
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
What was I like growing up??? Well they don’t call me “The Life of The PARTY” for no reason! But honestly growing up I was always more shy but a great performer! I’ve been in plays at school, danced and sung at my church (still do from time to time) very family oriented! Any events that my family has they always ask if I’m coming or Miranda when I finally walk thru the door it’s always “now the party can start” which I always laugh about. I love to laugh, have great conversations and learn new things!! Makes a person more wholesome in my opinion. Live, Laugh, Love is a serious statement that we all need to follow in our daily encounters.
I’ve always been interested in music since I was a young boy (no NBA though) I’m surprised I didn’t go to school for it. But when I was younger I always watched Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, Timbaland, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and many more. Now as I’m older I watch Nicki, Rihanna, Xavier Omar, Tinashe, Lil Uzi Vert, and Drake.
My interest in music varies now that I’m older and I can go back to the older times and listen to what my grandparents and great parents used to listen to and I can completely hear the difference. But it all plays apart in who I am today. Another interest I always had was rollercoasters. Once I was scared to get on them but I shook my fear and went to Six Flags Ohio (Geauga Lake) and shortly after my dad took me to Cedar Point where my fears were really tested (lol) but I had the best time and experience a kid/teen could ask for! And to this day I make my business to take a trip there every summer!
