Check Out Tawny Hanf’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawny Hanf

Tawny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Tawny, I grew up in a small town in Ohio and I’m the oldest of 3 girls. I always loved my hairstylist growing up and admired her flexibility in her job. I knew I wanted a creative job and briefly thought about a marketing and design path for myself. Ultimately, I decided to go to The Paul Mitchell School in Columbus and I haven’t looked back 16 years later. The industry has shifted so much since I started and turns out I also do marketing and design now has a hairstylist. I wouldn’t have guessed that back in 2009. Fast forward to now I’m married and a mom of 3 kids. I truly appreciate the flexibility my job provides me to be there for them. I work in a salon called Kalon Hair Studio. I work in a salon environment with other independent business owners and it’s the absolute best. After my 3rd child I’ve stepped away from my typical schedule in the salon to
One day and week to
Help balance my families needs. This has been truly amazing for myself and my family. Now I am ramping back up again that my youngest is pushing towards 2 years old. I have a huge emphasis on holistic health in my life and I have brought that into my work has a hairstylist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road but I’ve always looked at life through an optimistic lense so I know any set back was for a reason. I’ve moved and rebuilt my clientele multiple times but honestly that has been such a gift and has taught me so much and given me a lot of confidence in what I do. Your people will find you.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I use Innersense Organic beauty and Roz haircare products. I don’t use anything in my salon on my clients that is going to harm them now or in the future. I feel that this is a huge wave coming in the beauty industry because more and more women are suffering from infertility, autoimmune diseases, ect. I don’t want to contribute to that harm and I pride myself on giving my clients what they need to keep themselves and their hair healthy. I specialize in blondes and brunettes with a timeless touch. I want my clients to be able to go at least 12 weeks inbetween appointments. Something I’m most proud of is my family and the culture my husband and I are creating for them. They have the absolute best spirits.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Well, something I truly missed during COVID was physical touch. I love giving my clients a hug and this felt strange to change. Not seeing your clients emotions on their face when wearing a mask was also so tough. Lets just say I’m glad that craziness is done and over with.
