Today we’d like to introduce you to Tannah Adams
Hi Tannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
About a year ago I was laid off and decided I didn’t want to work for someone else doing something I hated my whole life and so I started my tiktok account @tannahadams it’s slowly grown and i really love connecting with people and have found a nice little community that i love, early last year I found out I was pregant with my first child so I decided to keep working on my tiktok but with the ban I thought it might be a good idea to have another platform for people to find me on in case tiktok disappeared so I recently started a youtube channel I’ve only been doing it for a little while but I’m very excited and I love what I do I make mostly beauty and fashion content as those are my interests but I’m sure once my baby comes I’ll be making videos about my motherhood journey as well. All of this wouldn’t be possible without my loving husband supporting me and believing in my dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have had steady increases but I have by no means blown up or started getting paid yet and sometimes it’s hard to keep going when it feels like it’s all for nothing. And since we only have one income right now it can be a challenge to come up with ideas that don’t cost money or much money but I love being creative with it and I love my husband and all the people on my accounts and in my real life that truly believe I can do it and I’m doing this for them as much as me I want to be able to take care of those I love and not have to have my husband be away from our little family everyday he never complains and is the sweetest man in the world supporting me through everything.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most know for my makeup/fashion content I love thrift shopping bc you have to put hours into it but it’s like digging for buried treasure in a way you can find the best stuff for so cheap and such unique pieces and I love very weird unique fashion. My other passion is makeup I love sparkles I have them in every look I can’t help it it’s just who I am! And I love a colorful eye look or trying new things or a bold lip just because I felt like it it’s fun and I love giving real life people the best products I can find the cheaper the better bc you don’t need to spend a ton to get great makeup in my opinion and I love helping people with tips it’s taken me years to learn!
What were you like growing up?
When I was very little I was a very dramatic social girl unfortunately the world kind of beat that out of me for a little while but my youtube especially is really helping me get back to that girl I love just being a ray of sunshine for everyone and I love dressing up and just going to the grocery store in a full face of colorful makeup it took me a while to be okay with the stares and judgemental looks you sometimes get from dressing and looking the way I do but I love being girly and fun and colorful and it’s not my job to make other people comfortable it’s my job to be myself for myself and hopefully I can encourage others to dress and look how they want to in the process.
