Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey in esthetics began about seven years ago when I enrolled in esthetics school. After graduating, I started my career at a day spa and later joined European Wax Center. It was there that I found my passion for waxing and worked my way up to becoming a regional wax trainer for Central Ohio. However, after gaining extensive experience and expertise, I realized I was being overworked and underpaid for the value I brought to the table.
Around that time, I discovered I was expecting my son, and it was a major turning point. I knew it was time to take the leap and build something of my own. At four months pregnant, I signed the lease for the salon suite that I still call home today! Fast forward to October of 2024, and we proudly celebrated our third anniversary. Now entering our fourth year, Baldeh Beauty Bar has flourished in ways I never imagined—our social media presence has grown, we’ve welcomed so many wonderful clients, and the quality of service we provide continues to elevate every day. I’m beyond excited to see where this journey takes us, and I’m so grateful for all the support that’s helped us get here!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, there were times when things were slow, and there were moments when keeping faith in the business felt challenging. But through all the ups and downs, we remained persistent, especially with our social media presence and marketing efforts. Staying consistent and putting in the work has truly paid off, and we’ve seen significant growth because of it. Building a business is never without its struggles, but staying focused, believing in our vision, and continuously improving has been key to overcoming those challenges.
We’ve been impressed with Baldeh Beauty Bar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Baldeh Beauty Bar is a full-body waxing salon located in Columbus, Ohio, where we specialize in waxing using hard wax. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people is that I’m actually quite shy outside of work. I tend to be more reserved when I’m not at the suite. However, when I’m with clients, I completely open up—I’m outgoing and talkative because I genuinely love what I do and enjoy connecting with others through my work!
