Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Overberg
Hi Elizabeth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always been interested in helping others on their healing journey, in one way or another. I have a background in psychology and behavioral practices having received my BA in Psychology and a BS in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Corrections; both from the University of Cincinnati.
About 10 years ago, in the midst of being in a high stress career, I began having gut health issues. After not finding many answers or any relief from traditional paths in western medicine, I was lead down a path of approaching my health and wellness from a more proactive and holistic perspective. Changing my lifestyle and diet brought me so much relief, as well as the knowledge that mental and emotional health is so intrinsically correlated with gut and physical health. This lead me on a total healing journey of my mind, body, and spirit. This journey lead me to the realization that I was not happy with my career, and it was part of what was causing the stress and imbalances within my body, so I made the difficult decision to quit my job, and I immediately knew that my calling and the next step in my journey was to share this holistic approach and lifestyle with my community and beyond!
I knew that I needed to become a Holistic Wellness Coach, and this naturally lead me on a path of receiving training for Thai Yoga Massage, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and many other holistic modalities. I have now been sharing these practices with the Cincinnati community (and beyond) for 5 1/2 years, and I know I have found my true calling in this journey! I am so grateful for every step of the way that lead me to where I am today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely not all smooth sailing. The difficulties and pain of navigating my gut health issues were extremely hard on me mentally and physically. It was also an extremely scary decision to leave my career and start my own business having no prior knowledge or experience in being an entrepreneur. But I had the courage to make the leap for my own health and it was ultimately the best decision I ever made. I am so grateful for my husbands support in making this decision and through the transition, I don’t know what I would have done without him.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Inner Journey is a space for you to feel safe, to heal, to grow, and to discover. To arrive however you are, and to allow me to guide you through your own unique healing journey using a variety of holistic wellness modalities. We offer Holistic + Ayurvedic Wellness Coaching, Thai Yoga Massage, Oracle Readings, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Sessions, Ayurvedic Dosha Assessments, monthly workshops and classes, and so much more! I strive to provide a safe and healing environment through the use of essential oils, crystals, intentional energy work, and so much more for each and every client who walks through my door.
Holistic Balance Blueprint: A 4 month 1:1 coaching program that provides a blueprint for bringing balance to your whole self: emotionally, physically, and energetically. I give guidance and accountability in you fulfilling your holistic wellness goals through Ayurvedic lifestyle practices, intuitive coaching, morning/evening routines, EFT, and more. Coaching sessions are completed both in persona and virtually, and we meet on a bi-weekly basis with texting support between sessions. If you’re searching for guidance on a holistic system to heal, transform, and grow, this program is where you’ll find it!
Thai Yoga Massage: An Ayurvedic bodywork practice involving elements of mindfulness, breathwork, gentle stretching and rocking, compression along energetic meridians, intention setting, and energy work, all combined into one holistic healing session. At Inner Journey I also provide feedback on areas I felt tension physically, and the emotions and energy (chakras) that can be correlated with those areas. Additionally I include a 1 card Oracle Reading with each session to give you a little guidance as you head into the coming weeks.
Oracle Readings: If you’re seeking guidance on a situation, choice, relationship, friendship, what your next step should be, career, self-introspection, just some general guidance, and so much more, look no further. I channel the energy of the universe to pull multiple cards to aid in answering all of your questions related to your chosen topics. Inner Journey offers this service both virtually and in person.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT): EFT is a holistic approach to releasing trapped/stuck emotions. This tool uses a tapping sequence along specific energetic meridians, and positive affirmations to release negative energy while reprogramming neuro-pathways. Thereby releasing the emotion and creating lasting change in the overall mindset. I will coach you through how to use the tool, and we can continue our journey in working through specific trauma, scenarios, emotions, and more.
Ayurvedic Dosha Assessment: A 2 part appointment: the first appointment will be the assessment portion where I ask 30 questions about yourself. The second part is where you will receive feedback on your individual constitution (energetic makeup). I will educate you on an introduction to Ayurveda, what your unique Dosha balance is, and the best lifestyle practices based on your makeup. If you’re looking to deepen a more clean and holistic lifestyle, grow in your understanding of yourself and your body, preventatively maintain your health and wellness, and improve your overall quality of life, this is a service I highly recommend.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories with my family was taking drives on Sunday’s when it was warm outside. We would drive around in our Jeep with the top down, and make a whole day of it. We would always make a stop at our favorite creamy whip, Putz’s!
