Life & Work with Adub Nati of Cincinnati

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adub Nati

Hi Adub, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my musical journey when I moved to downtown Cincinnati at seven years old. The first hip-hop song I remember hearing was Tupac’s “keep ya head up” from there I fell in love with the genre. Many years I would take in random hip-hop songs here and random hip-hop songs there. It wasn’t until I got to high school though that I noticed alot of the hip-hop songs I was listening to at the time seemed to be talking about my life or the life I was living at the time. And so, feeling I could tell my story better I began to write rhymes. After graduating high school my Dad bought me my 1st home studio setup. I then started trying to record myself and my freinds collectively. Something was off however as I desired what I’ll call a more potent sound. Then at the age of around 21 I got baptized. From that point I vowed that all the music I made from then on would be Christ centered. Hasn’t always been easy as I found difficulties in things like finding a skillful team to show me the ropes per say with the type of music I desired to make, as well as desiring to walk my musical audience through my transition musically. But through trail and error I am where I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. I remember several studios ripping me off, not taking my project serious. Which lead to me compromising unfortunately in some cases. Also legal trouble delayed my career and body of work I’ve released. Not to mention and probably going without saying the financial issues I had made the road difficult to say the least. And the difficulty trying as I said to find a skillful team to show me the ropes wanting to be a Christian/conscious hip-hop artist.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Christian/conscious hip-hop artist, known for my lyricism and quality of music. I’m most proud of the fact I’ve achieved my accomplishments independently. What sets me apart is not only do I rap about Christian issues or from a Christian perspective but I also rap about issues common to my community or from there perspective.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Knowledge of Christ. And Secondly the knowledge and desire to make high quality music/hip-hop.
