Check Out Uni’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Uni

Hi Uni, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started as a child, healing from an eye injury; adapting to a new life. I had a lot of time alone as I wasn’t often around my mother. Growing up and growing into the person I was starting to like, I ventured out to meditate near waterfalls, often times at night time during the summer. Reaching my adult ages, I accepted my life for what it was and what it won’t be no matter how hard I try to fix, build or guide, so when I finally let go, I blossomed into this new version of me and this new chapter has been nothing but exciting, free and unpredictable.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. At 12 I was stabbed in the eye, and was often told to accept my cousin and try to understand she’s sorry. I also had a rough relationship with my mother, she often sabotaged a lot of my growth growing up; choir, art, writing clubs, etc, but I found a way lol. She sabotaged the relationship between me and my father but it’s okay. I forgave her and everybody who has wronged me on the day of the eclipse in 2024 and let go of the past, putting the old me to a honorary rest and stepped into who I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So my friends call me Uni, which is short for universe. Considering I am a very spiritual person, a lot of my art is galactic. My music is vibrational. Also universe is short for universal artist. I paint, draw, sing, rap and write. I am currently known for my charcoal portraits and my singing versatility. I’m most proud of my piece “A.Dublin25” which was a commission I sent to a fellow artist Aaron Ward down in Kansas. So I’m very proud of the support base I’ve developed. I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I accept, talk to and mingle with every group I can find a vibe in.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m interested in real estate and I’m also on the verge of building a podcast for my non profit that I have dubbed MMHAP (Men’s Mental Health Awareness and Promotion)
