Today we’d like to introduce you to Jahvierra Jackson
Hi Jahvierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Jahvierra Jackson, a 23-year-old mogul mom, as I like to call myself. As some may or may not know, I’m a mom to twins, Lyric and Legend—my pride, my motivation, and my complete happiness. They keep me grounded and remind me daily of the importance of building a legacy.
My entrepreneurial journey began at just 15 when I started making flyers and websites. Freshly out of high school, I had a plan, but not enough funds to get started. I went to my go-to person—my grandfather—with my business idea and asked for a loan with a repayment date. Sure enough, he gave it to me. Within a month, I got my Salon Suite, and when I came back with the exact amount he had given me, not knowing it was a test, I said, “Grandpa, I got the suite and fully furnished it.” Happily updating him and showing what I did to the space. To my surprise, my grandfather didn’t want the money back at all—he just wanted to see if I would keep my word and stick to the plan. Sure enough, I did, and he was proud to see me follow through with every update as a young business owner.
In 2021, I launched Bare Luxe Skin 216, where I offer body waxing, facials, and vajacials. That’s where my passion for waxing truly blossomed. During that time, I also began offering booth rentals to 1-3 beauty professionals in my common area. Alongside Bare Luxe Skin 216, I ventured into launching a cosmetic line, sunglasses, and a clothing line, selling locally and even getting orders outside my city. That’s when I first got the real feeling of making my own money, and it felt amazing.
As my businesses grew, I realized I needed more space. Now, I offer a fully equipped, multi-purpose salon suite, where I provide booth rentals for aspiring beauty professionals. I currently have a hairstylist, makeup artist (MUA), and lash tech working in the main space, and we’re actively looking for a nail tech to join the team.
In my new space, Bare Luxe Enterprise LLC, which is four times bigger than my previous location, I have my office, where Bare Luxe Skin 216 clients are taken care of. Right across from that is my photography room, where I do most of my in-studio photoshoots for Bare Luxe Photography. We also offer hourly studio rentals to photographers and creatives in the local area.
As my business grew and I got older, I realized I needed to find something that my clients would love just as much as I loved servicing them. That’s when I stepped into photography. My very first photoshoot was of my twins when they were newborns, taken right in my mom’s living room with a ring light and an iPhone. My mom had always encouraged me to explore photography, knowing how tech-savvy I’ve been since I was a kid, but at the time, my focus wasn’t fully there yet.
In September 2023, I officially launched Bare Luxe Photography. I decided to put my sole focus on photography, and it skyrocketed fast! I found a hustle that turned into a true passion—something I love doing, something that resonates with my clients, and something that helps them create endless memories while I serve them a luxury experience. Now that my photography business has completely taken over my time, I still accommodate my clients for Bare Luxe Skin 216, ensuring they still receive the same great service they’ve come to expect.
Building a business at such a young age hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has been a lesson that has shaped who I am today. I’ve learned that it’s not about having everything figured out from the start, but about having the courage to take that first step, staying committed, and trusting the process. To any aspiring young entrepreneurs out there, know that your age does not define your potential. With passion, persistence, and the right mindset, you can create anything you dream of. Keep pushing, stay focused, and never underestimate the power of believing in yourself. Your journey is yours to shape, and the possibilities are endless.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the loss of my grandfather in March 2024. He was not just a family member but also one of my biggest supporters and contributors. His guidance and encouragement were instrumental in helping me get my start in business. His presence is extremely missed, and the emotional impact has been tough to navigate. However, I continue to push forward, keeping the lessons he taught me close to my heart. His belief in me and my potential has always been a driving force, and I use that to fuel my journey, honoring his legacy through my work.
Another challenge I’ve faced is being doubted for my age. People often don’t expect someone so young to have the experience or the vision to run a business. But I’ve learned that not all doors are meant for me to walk through, and the challenges I face are just detours leading me to where I’m supposed to be. Every experience, every doubt, every NO has only made me more determined to prove that age doesn’t define capability or success.
A third challenge I’ve encountered is the need to limit the amount of fun and partying that comes with being young. Focusing on my goals and building my businesses means sacrificing a lot of social time, which can lead to distance in friendships and relationships. While it can be tough, I know that these sacrifices are necessary to get where I need to be in life. My vision for my future keeps me grounded and motivated, and I understand that these tough decisions will pay off in the long run.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Bare Luxe Photography, I consider myself a versatile photographer. I offer all-around photography, specializing in a wide range of services, including in-studio sessions, headshots, group branding shoots, events, off-location, and lifestyle photography. No matter the session type, I always aim to provide a luxury experience while capturing timeless memories for my clients.
I also run a brand ambassador program, which currently has 12+ members. The program allows my ambassadors to participate in creative shoots that I personally create, direct, and photograph. In return, they receive perks and discounts, including half-off services, free shoots, networking opportunities, skill development, and social media exposure. Additionally, each ambassador has a referral code they can share with others, earning incentives for bringing new clients into the Bare Luxe Photography family.
As I continue to grow Bare Luxe Photography, my goal is to keep providing exceptional, personalized experiences for each of my clients. Every session is a chance to tell a unique story, and I’m honored to capture those moments that will last a lifetime. Whether it’s through luxury photography or the incredible brand ambassador program, I’m committed to nurturing the creativity and dreams of everyone I work with. The journey has just begun, and I’m excited to see where it takes us!
I strive to give my clients a luxury experience while being cost-efficient. My goal and prime focus as an entrepreneur is to network and grow my relationships as a business owner. I want to be the person who gives opportunities to others—the opportunities I didn’t have or that I paved the way for myself. This is something that’s truly needed in the home of Cleveland, where I can contribute to creating a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who support and empower each other to succeed.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
A childhood memory that stands out to me is from third grade, when we all contributed to making a book that was professionally published. On my page, I boldly wrote that I would have twins with Jaden Smith—a fun and wild dream for a third grader! Although it wasn’t with Jaden Smith, I truly believe that in that moment, I was manifesting my future. Today, I’m a proud mom of twins, Lyric and Legend, and I can’t help but smile knowing that even as a child, I was envisioning this special chapter of my life.
Manifesting has been a huge part of my journey and success. Speaking life into myself and the things I want for and in my life has made them vividly come true. From envisioning my twin children in third grade to building my businesses and goals, I’ve learned that when you speak with intention and truly believe in what you’re striving for, the universe aligns to make it a reality. It’s not just about wishing for something—it’s about truly owning your vision and watching it unfold in front of you.
