Life & Work with Know Clue of Cincinnati

Today we’d like to introduce you to Know Clue

Know Clue, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Brett the drummer and Charlie have been friends since grade school. Mitch and Charlie began working together around 2023 and they decided to start jamming after work. Those buzzed jam sessions turned into writing originals with a little more direction to forming a sound, including Brett behind the drum kit. Over 2000 beers later the three of us have have played over 40 shows established our presence on streaming platforms and curated custom merch for all of our shows that we hand press ourselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The overall writing of our songs and our work has been a very fairly smooth journey the biggest struggle that we faced as a unit was trying to find a strong friendly fourth person that could help us aid the sound that we have already established. We’ve originally made this band with the idea of collaboration hence the fact that all of us contribute equally to the creative process whether that comes to writing, lyrics or sound.
We’ve had a couple tries at a fourth and it just has not worked out leading us to not be as focused on finding another member.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We’re a band in the greater Cincinnati area that focuses on creating original music that will be able to capture the musical personalities of all three members in the band. We all contribute a fair amount to the process to come to an end result that we all enjoy. It has recently come to fruition in the studio as we put our new originals we work hard on our music and pull from everyday real life influences to tie into the sound.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
we hope to see a larger shift towards live music and smaller independent artist getting recognition naturally. With the development of social media, it becomes increasingly more difficult to discover a natural audience. We just want those who want to hear us to be able to hear us in an organic way. We hope to see a shift towards smaller artist recognition, whether it be by way of smaller deals leading to bigger things, or new labels popping up that are able to prop up smaller talent. We’re all in this together here in Cincinnati! We book shows together, we hang out together, we only hope to see it blossom.
