Meet Annadale of Akron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annadale

Hi Annadale, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Annadale started as a group of college friends with various music backgrounds looking for another opportunity to express themselves through their craft. Joining together in a basement, we spent most of our early days practicing and performing in the basement of the lead guitarist house. After about 4 months we got our first gig at a local coffee shop and were able to show case our skills. Starting off by playing cover songs, at just over a year of being a group together we released our debut album “Who You Really Are” featuring 10 songs we wrote over the past year. The album shot Annadale into the local scene presenting many opportunities such as playing Mahalls ‘Summer Bummer’ festival, Akrons “Porch Rockr” Festifal, as well as opening for Carpool Tunnel. Recently Annadale has released their second project, a 4 song EP titled “Dial Tone”. Following this release and looking to the new year, Annadale will be embarking on a small tour around Ohio.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Annadale has faced many of the problems most small bands face. Playing shows for less than 5 people, stagnant social media growth, and struggling to get the word out about our music. As we continue to grow we are figuring out how to better manage these and become an irresistible act.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Annadale is an Indie Rock group from Akron, Ohio. We enjoy creating laidback yet driving songs that reflect the natural scenery of north east Ohio. We are known for our energized shows and group charisma on stage. We are proud of our newest EP “Dial Tone” and how it came out and was received.
