Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Faulkner

Hi Emily, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in the beginning of 2017 right after I graduated from massage therapy school. I rent a small room in Vandalia and began specializing in deep tissue massage. I began to grow my clientele and loved the results my clients were getting. They loved it too. Over the years, I have maintained doing bodywork on my sweet clients while accepting new clients. I love what I do and getting the chance to make them feel better in their everyday life!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning while growing my clientele, it was very hard work. I worked endless hours massaging anyone who would want to schedule with me. I also worked a lot of charity or special events doing chair massages! All of that helped me get known in the community to grow and maintain clients. I am very thankful for all the work I poured into my self and my clients!

We’ve been impressed with Refuge Massage Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Refuge Massage Therapy. My studio is in Vandalia, OH. I specialize in deep tissue massages. I believe that working through your deeper fascia layers is what will help you feel better in the long run. A lot of us deal with some sort of stress or tension in our life so being able to take an hour for yourself to get all the tension in your muscles worked out really helps in everyday life. My services are 30 minute, 60 minute and 90 minute sessions. I usually suggest the 60 minute but if you have a specific area you need focused on, extra time is always suggested! I also offer add on services such as: cupping, hot stones and extra stretching during your massage.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Starting out I wish I would have trusted myself a little bit more. I was always very anxious about only having 1-2 clients on my schedule but by the end of that week I would have 10-15 clients. The clientele will come if you’re available, work hard and love what you do! Trust that.
