Hidden Gems: Meet William Morrison Iii of Addicted To Money LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Morrison Iii

Hi William, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Being both my parents oldest child it’s always the most pressure. My mom being from Jacksonville Florida and my father being from Detroit Michigan I was raised with tough love. My mom got pregnant with me at the age of 17 and decided she would graduate early and prepare for the real world. With her being a straight A student at south highschool it was no problem for her. My dad on the other hand was in the streets, getting expelled from south and getting suspended from Marion Franklin he decided to drop out. We once lived in greenbryor projects, but I have very little memories there. Our next home was Mayfair apartments. Being in Mayfair I, had to grow up fast. Witnessing a lot of domestic violence due to my parents turmoil made me realize everything wasn’t always peaches and cream. When I turned 5 my mom was pregnant again and I had to buy my big boy shoes on because my parents separated no long after. I was now the man of the house. I had to learn to make my own school lunch (because i wouldn’t eat the schools food), iron my own clothes, wash dishes, take out trash etc. I started kindergarten at fairmoor elementary school at age 5, and I would continue to go there all the way until it was time for me to continue to middle school. 2nd grade my father caught some charges and was sentenced to 18 months in state prison. Everyone started to notice a change in my behavior and I was enrolled in a big brother program so that I could have a mentor to help me cope with my father missing. It was about in the 3rd grade when we moved from Mayfair to Berwick. At this time is when I realized I wasn’t the same as the other kids. My teachers would always pull me to the side after classes and give me extra assignments and I always thought it wasn’t fair but it was because I was more advanced. I was introduced to the game of chess, and fell in love with it instantly. I was chosen to go to a tournament featuring kids from all over Ohio, and came up short for second place in the chess tournament. That moment was so monumental for me because that was my first real taste of defeat. 4th grade, a couple other students and I were chosen to be in a 5th grade class for the year. They call it the 4/5 split. Learning a grade ahead a year early would make my last year in elementary easy. By the end of 5th grade year, my mother would decide that we moved to reynoldsburg with my now stepfather Eddie. Eddie’s transition into my life would be easy because I’ve always knew him growing up, he was no stranger. Being in reynoldsburg made me grow up even faster because the outside cites of Columbus are way more in advanced than the inner city. I was attending HAMS for 6th grade but we moved back to the inner city my 7th grade and I was enrolled into Yorktown. We moved to easthaven where I would stay for the next 9 years. That part of growing up I had the best of both worlds, it was more trench like at my moms house but mom always made it happen no matter what, and being with my dad it was more financial freedom, I got everything I could ask for. Fast forwarding to the end of my 8th grade year, my dad caught another case, and this time we knew he could go away for a long time. This drove me insane, I started Getting in trouble at school, I got my first c ever on a report card. I just stopped caring for everything. I didn’t even get to finish out the school year, it’s was about a month left and they suspended me for the rest of the year. Freshman year I got a chance to move in with my dad before he had to turn himself in because he was later let out on house arrest to fight his case. I locked back in with everything that had to do with school. It was easy to make friends in highschool because I had all the shoes and clothes (people are materialistic) and my cousin was the star on the girls basketball team. April 19, 2017 my dad had to turn himself in and that’s when I started my terrible ways again. Fighting with my mom almost everyday, getting in trouble in school, and later that summer I was admitted into the Harding center for children because i wouldn’t speak to anyone, people thought i was suicidal. Other than that I don’t like speaking on highschool because it was probably the worst part of my life, but I also appreciate it because it made me who I am today. Sept 16 homecoming walkout, senior year, I was humiliated and embarrassed by 2 close, or for what I thought, close friends of mine and I needed that cuz that’s what woke me up. I went into a deep dark depression after graduation and cut the world off to find myself. That’s when I started being in the streets and following my dads footsteps. I realized the only thing that made my mood better was obtaining Benjamin Franklin, Andrew Jackson. But the streets wasn’t for me either, it just helped me learn how to move. From 2020 to 2022 I was making money out here the wrong way. I then understood that the streets would never be fair to me no matter how clean I played the game, so I dropped everything, took my money and invested in what the world will eventually know as
ADDICTED TO MONEY LLC.
I realized I like making money, but also the right way, I don’t have to look over my back constantly, I don’t have to worry about the police, getting robbed. My record is clean, no felonies, car, home, 2 companies under my LLC. The main part of the brand is my clothing line in which I run with my little cousin Jeff, who is currently still in highschool. @atm_garment on instagram. The best thing I ever did was go legit and invest in myself. I got crossed by 2 people I would die for but the money never did me wrong and it still will always be here. I am now 22 years old and I’m focusing on making my brand bigger, collabing with others, and helping others that would like to get started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road is never smooth no matter how you are in my opinion. Some struggles I’ve faced while building my brand is gatekeepers, late shipments, messed up orders, losing contact with manufacturers, that’s just in my brand. But struggles in life? The number on thing I stuggle with is an unloyal person. Because me personally no one can ever say I did them wrong, but when the tables turn I’ve got done bad by so many people I trusted.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Addicted To Money LLC?
I’m known for being addicted to money, I currently have a clothing brand, car flipping business, and also I’m a rapper apart of the rap group ATMxATH. In order to be ADDICTED TO THE MONEY you have to be ADDICTED TO THE HUSTLE.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wanna just give credit to my whole circle without them it would be impossible in my eyes.
