Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan & Tiffany Bean
Hi Dan & Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Every day on his drive to work running another kitchen, Dan saw a small, run-down bar and grill for sale in Walton Hills. With our combined 30+ years of restaurant experience, and Dan’s passion for cooking, it was the perfect location for us. We decided to buy the place and spent one year remodeling. After one year, we opened our doors, and for the past 3 years, we have grown as our community has embraced us and our customer base continues to expand. We are not a big operation, and our small team excels at working together to serve our customers. We focus on offering quality and value and making sure that customers leave satisfied (and wanting to return for more).
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We started remodeling in 2020, so with COVID came unexpected issues relating to costs, supplies, and it took twice as long as expected to open the kitchen. There were unexpected costs due to some repairs we have needed, attributable to the age of the building. Since opening, food costs have had a historic increase amongst all other inflation, with extreme spikes in certain products happening.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We operate a small restaurant, and Dan is the chef, cooking every meal that leaves the kitchen. Dan prides himself on food quality, food safety, and proper cooking techniques. Whatever you order off the menu, you will enjoy! We make (almost) everything in house. And all meals are made to order, so while his menu is his ideal, modifications can be made. We have an incredible, small staff that works together, doing all aspects of the front and back of house to increase our efficiency. We focus on quality and value, offer half and full size portions! Many people enjoy viewing the menu with pictures and ordering online.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Digital ordering systems and technology driven ordering will be the norm for all dining places and styles. You’ll see less cash and more card only. The demand for third party delivery systems will continue to increase. Online ordering will continue to grow and represent a significant portion of our business.
