My journey began in corporate accounting, where I gained valuable experience managing large financial systems and understanding the importance of financial structure in business. However, during that time, I felt a growing passion for helping smaller businesses that didn’t always have access to the same resources. I knew there was more I wanted to offer beyond the corporate world, and that passion sparked the vision for my own business.
About nine years ago, I founded Touche Financial Solutions with the goal of supporting business owners in not only managing their finances but also achieving a healthy balance between business growth and personal well-being. Initially, I focused on traditional accounting services like bookkeeping, tax filings, and financial reporting. But as I worked with more clients, I saw a need for more comprehensive support—businesses were struggling not just with numbers, but with the operational and strategic aspects of running a company.
That realization led me to expand Touche Financial into a boutique firm offering CFO-level services, financial system development, and business consulting. I also started my podcast, Balanced Insights, where I explore how business owners can find harmony between their business and personal lives. Recently, I enrolled in a certified business coaching program, which has allowed me to integrate coaching into my services, helping entrepreneurs grow strategically and personally.
Today, my passion continues to drive me as I work with clients to bridge the gap between operational and financial struggles, empowering them to achieve their full potential.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely had its ups and downs. Starting a business from scratch is never smooth, but each challenge has played a crucial role in shaping my journey. One of the biggest struggles early on was shifting from a corporate mindset to running my own business. In corporate accounting, I had systems and processes in place, but as an entrepreneur, I had to build everything from the ground up while wearing many hats—from accounting to marketing to client management.
Another challenge was finding the right clients. In the beginning, I worked with a wide range of businesses, but over time, I realized that I wanted to serve a more specific group of clients—those who could benefit from premium, boutique-level services. Narrowing my focus meant redefining my business offerings and turning away clients who weren’t the right fit, which was a tough but necessary decision.
I also faced the challenge of helping clients understand the value of financial structure, especially smaller business owners who often viewed accounting as a necessary evil rather than a tool for growth. That’s when I started educating clients more deeply, not just about managing their books, but about how understanding their numbers can help them make smarter decisions and grow sustainably.
Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced setbacks, but each struggle has taught me something valuable—whether it was how to fine-tune my services, build better client relationships, or expand my role from an accountant to a business coach and consultant. These challenges have strengthened both me and my business, and I’m grateful for how far I’ve come.
