Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Perrin

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Behold Beauty Hair Studio was created from my lived experience of discovering my own beauty. My heart is for you to feel liberated to see your beauty while we share time together. Beauty that challenges social norms. Beauty that emanates from the inside out. The beauty that’s always been there. Behold Beauty Hair Studio is a safe + peaceful + joyful + inclusive space where you are the focus. If you’ve longed for silence, that’s what you’ll find. If you’ve longed for conversation, that’s what you’ll find.

My experience extends the 16 professional years as a hair artist, hair has been my passion since a little girl. I spent many Saturday mornings in my grandma’s beauty shop enamored with the transformations.

Flash forward hundreds of hours of education later, a life transforming experience of becoming a brand educator, and wearing multiple creative hats… my industry specialty is dimensional color and an ever increasing knowledge of loving care for curly hair. We all deserve to be seen and cared for.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My passion for my craft has carried me through so much of my career. I would say 10 years in I felt an itch for more and pursued education which catapulted me into unearthing and healing so many parts of myself. A journey that continues today. My passion has shifted in the last 4 years to include not only my craft, but now to really SEE people. To see them and free them. Meet them where they are and show them the beauty that’s ALWAYS been there.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional licensed cosmetologist. I have always loved the entire process of creating a look so I still provide color services, hair cutting, and styling. I specialize in dimensional color and and very passionate about continuing my education to become specialized in curly hair textures. I am most proud of the safe space I created for guests. I believe I’m set apart because of how I make people feel when they are in the Behold Beauty space.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Oh I am a woman of faith in God. Some days my faith feels large and some days feels small. It carries me.

I believe I am a “seed” just becoming all that I was ever meant to be much like an oak tree. No luck present.
