Daily Inspiration: Meet Alissa Disanto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alissa Disanto

Hi Alissa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Grew up in an American Italian family where tradition always was centered around food. I began cooking at a young age and continued to fall in love with all things food and drink as I got older. I went to college for Nursing and later found myself back in school for my MBA. I transitioned into medical device sales where I currently still am. As we approached the covid days, I was left working from home for many of months. This was my opportunity to turn my hobby into a reality so I started my food blog- Sauced By Sunday. I have this love for taking care of people and helping people and I find myself doing that with my food. Food is such a comforting thing and I love to share that with my family and friends.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Its been a slow burn for sure! I wanted to build my blog in the most authentic way possible and in doing so it has taken a while to get it off the ground. Being very diligent and consistent has been key.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love to cook and bake. I find I’m the most happy when I’m creating something special for the ones I love. I love to take my experiences in new cities or new restaurants and bring those ideas and flavors back to my own kitchen. I like to create recipes that anyone can create at home. Food should be complicated. I love fresh, homemade food above all else. Lots of citrus and herbs to really wake the palate up.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The things that bring me the most joy. Food is one of those things. Tradition and sharing those experiences with others.
