Hi Brooklyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! My name is Brooklyn aka Ny the Founder and CEO of Nova Ny LLC and soon to be released, NyLuxe Strands. I’m thrilled to share my passion for beauty with you. My journey into the beauty industry began as early as 11 years old. My beauty journey began as a MUA and my passions expanded into the world of beauty, i.e hair , fashion and accessories. From makeup, to hair, whether experienced or novice to self care, My goal has always been to provide a luxurious and personal experience for every single client and customer. This personal quest for excellence inspired me to create.

I turned my passions into a profession at the age of 19, Starting off locally doings friends and family, my business quickly grew. I’ve had the chance to collaborate with Kent State University , to shooting commercials for hair companies in Atlanta, GA , and becoming an ambassador for different companies such as Good Molecules, just to name a few. I have been blessed with so many opportunities to expand not only locally but nationally throughout these last 5 years, managing to turn some of my dreams into reality.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I’d be lying to you if I said it was easy. I feel as tho everyone has their own fears or struggles when it comes to pursuing anything new. Some of my biggest personal fears made me uncomfortable with putting myself out there. The thought of people being able to see, judge, comment, or even share my art was crippling to me at first. There were so many times I would call quits, get frustrated, cry and question if this is something I really could do..

I had to get over the fear of people seeing me trying. With that, I’ve been able to connect with so many people and form personal relationships just from being open and sharing my story. This journey as shown me not only how to be transparent and vulnerable but more importantly the beauty of doing so.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a freelance makeup artist, I specialize in creating natural, bridal, and editorial glam looks that celebrate life’s most beautiful moments.

I take immense pride in enhancing the beauty of brides on their special day, mothers-to-be embracing their glow, and individuals stepping confidently across the stage to receive their degrees. Each application is a heartfelt collaboration, whether it’s for an engagement, a big break onto TV, or any milestone worth celebrating. My work is not just about makeup; it’s about empowering my clients to radiate confidence and joy, making every moment unforgettable. This artistry is my creative outlet, and I am dedicated to crafting looks that tell unique stories and reflect the beauty within.
