Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Fontaine
Hi Megan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a child, I was always prone to misplacing things – a trait that followed me into adulthood. But instead of letting forgetfulness get the best of me, I turned it into a strength. I developed a passion for organization, creating systems to keep my belongings (both physical and digital) in check. This knack for tidiness soon made me the go-to person among friends and family seeking help with their own organizational challenges.
In early 2023 my husband and I were living in Portland, OR, and decided to move back to my hometown of Cincinnati, OH. This fresh start sparked a long-held dream: becoming my own boss. With my experience as an Operations Manager for a small business growth agency and my innate love for organization, the path forward was clear. I would help others unlock peace in their own spaces.
Today, I proudly run Peace Unlocked, a home organization business dedicated to transforming cluttered spaces into organized oases. I work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, goals, and pain points. Together, we create customized solutions that not only organize their homes but also improve their lives. Whether working alongside clients or independently, my mission remains the same: to unlock the peace and potential within every space.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As I embarked on this exciting adventure, officially launching Peace Unlocked in January 2024, I quickly found myself recognizing the struggles that come with entrepreneurship.
I’ve had to confront the daunting reality of confidently sharing the value of my business to the world. It’s a journey of self-discovery, embracing my expertise, and articulating my vision openly.
I’ve also noticed the struggle of navigating backend business development, carefully allocating my time and resources among marketing, finance, and administration. Each day, I strive to strategically prioritize, ensuring that every moment gets me closer to my goals.
It’s funny though, because these stressors are never about the organization process itself – it’s more about the struggles that come with being the owner of the business.
As you know, we’re big fans of Peace Unlocked. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Whether transforming cluttered spaces into organized sanctuaries or implementing seamless systems to simplify daily routines, we are dedicated to bringing peace to our clients’ living spaces.
Our clients range from feeling overwhelmed with the clutter that’s overtaken their space (typically because of a lack of storage systems) to simply wanting their space to look beautiful. The common denominator is that the client is ready for a change in their home and open to accepting our expertise.
We have a few different options when it comes to hiring us:

– We’ll create a plan for you to organize the space DIY style
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
This is a tough question! I’m blessed to have many. The one that comes to mind first is when my friend and I convinced my parents to get me a cat by printing and adamantly placing signs throughout our house and camper of different “benefits” the cat would bring. Elliot is still living with my parents and is now 16 years old!
