Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Out of college, I began working for a small marketing firm in Kentucky. As the first employee of three partners, I had the unique opportunity to witness the ins and outs of forming and running a marketing agency from a young age. When I moved to Ohio to get married, I had to reduce my hours with the firm since I was no longer client-facing. My boss suggested that I start an LLC and try to pick up clients in Ohio to offset my lost income.
Fortunately, I did more than pick up a client – I began acquiring many clients. My husband also contributed by bringing in new business; we worked together for many years. Now, nine years later, our agency, OneTeam, has clients nationwide and serves various industries, including aviation, property services, accounting, coaching, and more.
One significant milestone in my journey has been becoming a StoryBrand Certified Guide. This certification has greatly benefited our clients, helping us clarify their messaging and build effective marketing funnels. This, in turn, has fueled our growth and success.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but each challenge has helped shape us into the agency we are today. One of the initial struggles was balancing the growth of our client base while maintaining high-quality service. As our client list expanded, it became evident that we needed to grow our team and systems to keep up with the demand.
Another challenge was adapting to the rapidly changing digital marketing landscape. Staying ahead of trends, adopting new technologies, and continuously learning have been crucial.
