Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Harris

Hi Cassidy , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always felt gravitated towards singing and performing. I really started having a passion for it back in the 90’s when Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were in their prime. I would spend all of my time trying to mimic them. As I started to get older, I became really inspired by other pop girl groups and bands. I eventually started participating in local talent shows and took a few guitar lessons here and there. Since then music has stuck with me, I don’t see a life without it!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, I can say my musical journey has been pretty smooth! I feel like life is a lot of trial and error. There are always bumps along the road, but those experiences are what inspires me to write my music. I write all of my own songs and it usually takes a personal experience to help me tell a story through music. Something I do struggle with from time to time is writer’s block, but it comes in waves.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would say pop music is my primary genre. However, I really would like to step out of the box and create music in various genre’s since I personally enjoy a wide range of music. I want to tap into more house music, rock, and even country potentially. I don’t want to limit myself to one specific sound and I love to see other artists doing the same.

What are your plans for the future?
For right now, I look forward to continuing to create music that I can share with those who relate to it. The most rewarding part for me is when other people can relate to something I’ve gone through and we can bond over it together through the music. And even if people don’t relate, I appreciate those who listen regardless as it all comes straight from my heart. I plan to continue to perform shows when presented the opportunity! It’s one of my favorite things to do.
