Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Nielsen & Meredith Gorby
Hi Gina & Meredith, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In February 2021 I (Gina) stumbled across a mobile bar on social media and thought it was such a cool concept! After researching a little more I knew it was something I could do, so I ran down to Meredith’s office (we worked together at our 9-5 jobs) and asked if she wanted to start this business with me. She was immediately on board & we hit the ground running! By June we had a fully functioning mobile bar business thanks to a lot of late nights, taste tests, and most importantly Meredith’s dad, Hank. He spent so many hours building the inside of our bar and quite literally turned our dream into a reality.
We are going into our fourth season and somehow fall more in love with this business with each event.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have honestly been so lucky the past 3 years! We have the best clients and support systems, which makes everything really enjoyable and fun for us. Meredith & I try to take away something new with every event and use that to be better business owners & bartenders. If the worst thing we have encountered so far is less than ideal weather, I think we’re doing pretty great!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Road Pop is The Valley’s most unique bar experience! We want to elevate your event to an unforgettable experience while providing you the luxury of a stress free celebration.
The beauty of our mobile bar is that the party comes to you; all you have to do is decide what drinks sound good & where you want us! We take on all the planning, prep, serving, and clean up so you get to just enjoy your event.
Our handcrafted drinks are to die for, with our “claim to fame” being our signature Lavender Lemonade – a crowd favorite as a mocktail or cocktail. We really pride ourselves on being inclusive & making drinks that everyone can savor.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I would consider us extremely lucky in both our personal lives & in our business. Working together at our day jobs and having complimentary strengths & personalities allowed us to develop a deep friendship before ever starting The Road Pop. Our paths crossing was kismet! We also have the best people surrounding us and cheering us on in everything we do, which constantly feels like a giant stroke of good luck!
