Today we’d like to introduce you to Grayson Sebert Antreassian
Hi, Grayson Sebert; we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My most significant, earnest passions are the visual, literary, and performing arts. It is my charge in life to provoke, inspire, and transform others’ perspectives within themselves and the world around them with grace and decorum. I am a working actor in theater and film, a published poet, and the founder of Lycanthrope Studios, an independent film studio. My love for the arts began in the local theater. I performed as a child among so many splendidly talented peers and mentors, alongside my equally gifted and ingeniously creative parents, who have delved into the arts, literary and performing, for most of their lives. I hail from New York City originally, a city where art breathes within the very concrete you walk on, and have traveled throughout the US growing up and around the world as an adult, living in and traveling all from China to France to Costa Rica. My experiences only further shape who I am as a creative and fuel my desire to spread zeal and wonder to all those with whom I come in contact. My most tremendous success in my career is my first film, released in 2022, titled “The Master.” I am humbled and thankful to say that the film was nationally recognized in several film festivals, receiving an IMDb-qualifying Special Mention Award from the Global Shorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, and received high acclaim across many platforms. I am making a sister film to “The Master,” which I plan to release in late 2024 or early 2025. I am incredibly excited about what the future will bring for me in my career, and I can only hope to move upward and onward!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been the smoothest road to where I am now and where I continue to go, but I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything– they are valuable and contain highly worthwhile lessons. I live with a few mental health conditions and diagnoses, the most impactful one being Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) (diagnosed in 2019), and I have struggled with managing these conditions my whole life. Although sometimes my trepidations can be somewhat of a burden, my situation can also be undeniably fruitful regarding the creative process and shaping myself as a genuine human being. I advocate strongly for mental health awareness and strive to be a safe person to all who may be struggling or need support.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in acting for theater and film, singing for musical theater and operetta, poetry, and filmmaking. I am most proud of both my published poem, titled “The Angel,” which is published in Silent Spark Press (2022), which tells the tale of receiving redemption and soulful clarity in the most heinous of times, and of my first film, “The Master” (2022), which is a horror short film showcasing a disturbed woman’s mental anguish regarding the decision she made to execute her most dark, passionate desire. I have many artistic influences, such as Edgar Allen Poe, James Wan, Maria Brink, and Eliran Kantor. Still, I am original in that I interpret art solemnly, yet with such poetic, gracious quality that, of course, has a touch of delicate darkness. I enjoy all things strange and unknown, as this is an incredible backdrop for the kindling of vivid imagination and artifice. “The Master” ‘s dialogue is spoken through poetry, for instance, and in the industry, I was told that this was a pioneering move of sorts and wasn’t seen before in the horror genre. I consider the film’s highest compliment, and I am grateful that it sets me apart and makes me out to be an individual in the highly ambitious world of the arts.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am indebted to the arts community and hope to find solace and a meaningful career within the entertainment industry in my future endeavors. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my narrative!
