Hi Christy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started as a side hustle Did the side hustle for two years on the weekends
Decided to quit my corporate job and take the big leap of being a small business owner in 2020
Open our first brick-and-mortar location, March 1, 2020
12 days later, the global lockdown
We had the happy of What everybody was looking for during the lockdown
We are a success story out of Covid
We reinvented our business quickly after being open in our first location 12 days and then having the lockdown— we did porch pickups, and we did installations on people’s porches.
Our business took off during Covid
We have expanded three times since we’ve been open
We have nine employees
We bought our van in 2023
We just celebrated our four-year anniversary on March 1. We are in year number five of being in a brick-and-mortar location.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Have absolutely not!
Our biggest and most scary obstacle was when we first launched the business, and then 12 days later the global lockdown.
We quickly restrategized the business.
Continuing to learn how to make and create what we do as an ongoing challenge
Staffing and keeping employees have never been a challenge, which we are very thankful for that.
Learning how to run a small business versus running a corporate district or region when it’s your own money, you look at things a lot different.
Small business operations

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My background running large corporate district, being responsible for profit and loss, payroll, driving sales, daily operations, scheduling, hiring have all played a significant role in the success of our company
I would highly suggest anyone thinking about opening a small business have some level of degree of business management prior to doing so
I love the creative side of the business business the most; however, the operations and the financials of the business are critical skills in order to be successful
