Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherise Williams.
Hi Cherise, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Ghosts, cryptids, creepy things, the metaphysical. As far back as I can remember, I have always been drawn to and intrigued by all things supernatural or bizarre. These interests have always been within me; however, when I was a young kid, my dad would tell me all kinds of scary stories, and he is an excellent storyteller. I believe this helped spark my curiosity. Then, when I was around seven years old, I saw my first ghost. While at my grandmother’s house, I saw an apparition walk in front of me, turn towards me, and then disappear. While this experience did freak me out a little bit, I was more interested than anything. Seeing this ghost and consequently spending countless days and nights at my grandma’s haunted house inspired me to delve deep into the world of the paranormal and learn all I could. I was hooked. Years later, I would go on my first “ghost hunt” and actively investigate the world of the unseen for roughly 15 years.
Along with the paranormal, I have always been drawn to the mystical and spiritual. In my early teen years, I dabbled in seances and Oujia board sessions with friends and got my first tarot deck at age 13. Throughout the years, I read many books on witchcraft and various spiritual practices and began to incorporate them into my life and personal practice.
I went through many dark and troubled years, but my spiritual connection was always there. Around ten years ago, I took my mental health journey seriously and began therapy with a wonderful therapist. I also incorporated my spiritual path into my healing. I truly believe this helped me to where I am today.
Having a connection to the other side and being open to spiritual and paranormal possibilities helped me immensely in my life, which is why I am so passionate today about helping others along their own path. I love to inspire others to see the mystical and magical and everyday life, to establish their own spiritual connection, and to trust their intuition.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to get to where I am today was certainly not a smooth one. I experienced some very unpleasant things as a small child, and around middle school age, I began to be depressed, which only got worse as the years passed. Eventually, turning to drugs and alcohol to cope, I didn’t always make the best decisions. However, through it all, and as dim as my inner flame became at times, I never lost my inner light. I never faltered in the belief that I was part of something Divine we all are. Learning to truly find my worth and self-love was a journey indeed. But although I faced many difficulties, I made it through to the other side. And now I am able to take my past experiences and lessons to help others along their own paths. Whether it is connecting with Spirit, intuition, or one’s Higher Self.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have many “titles” such as author, spiritual guide, tarot reader, and paranormal investigator.
I am known for my straightforward yet impactful methods in the realms of spirituality, paranormal, and well-being. I specialize in empowering others to trust their intuition and navigate their spiritual journey while offering tarot readings and spiritual coaching.
In regards to the supernatural, I enjoy sharing ghostly tales as well as my adventures and investigations as I explore different paranormal phenomena. My integrative approach blends spiritual and witchcraft practices with paranormal investigations. Presently, I have written two books that cover these topics: The Witch’s Guide to Ghost Hunting and The Witch’s Guide to Haunted Objects.
Separately from the paranormal, I embrace a holistic approach to well-being, integrating spiritual practices with holistic techniques to promote harmony and empowerment between mind, body, and spirit. I hold several certifications such as spiritual studies, crystal healing, holistic tarot, life coaching, and hypnotherapy. I bring a wealth of expertise to support individuals on their unique path to wellness.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The rise of social media has certainly had an impact on all of us, and the paranormal and spiritual industries are no different. While connections made online and all of the accounts covering paranormal and spiritual topics can be fun and even educational, I think people are beginning to want to experience life and the beyond in person rather than through a screen. I think in the next 5-10 years, we will begin to see a trend of more in-person events and experiences. People are yearning for real connection, the type that can’t easily be found online.
On the flip side, with advances in technology and virtual reality, it will be really interesting to see the types of equipment and techniques that might emerge in regards to contacting the other side or having paranormal experiences.
