Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Eddy.
Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I began in the mortgage industry in 2009. During that time, the housing market was facing challenges just like today! Many people during that time questioned why I would get into the mortgage industry during a volatile time, but my response always was, “All the other lenders and realtors are at the bottom currently, so I might as well join them because the only place to go is up!” That is just what has happened! Along the way, I have developed many relationships with so many great people! I am in the business of serving others and helping my clients find their way home and build wealth through real estate. I have the most amazing clients and referral partners, such as realtors, insurance agents, financial advisors, and attorneys. I really don’t find a stranger because I love to network and connect with people who can benefit each other.
The top 5 stressful life events include: death of a loved one, divorce, moving, major illness and job loss. All of these events are reasons why clients reach out to me. That being said, it is my job to help create a clear and concise plan to help navigate them through their life event with their home financing needs and goals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The mortgage business is very reactionary. If you are going to be successful in this business, you have to be there for your realtors and clients when it is needed the most. Many times, this happens at night or on the weekends. I have had to learn to prioritize and be able to delegate responsibilities to my team. In addition to the everyday demands, juggling the daily schedule of being a sole caregiver to my daughters for several years was challenging, but we made it work! Time goes by so quickly, and now that they are older and on their own, I will never regret putting my daughters’ and their needs before my career.
Whenever you are building your dream, there will always be bumps along the way because that is where growth occurs! (In terms of the housing market, there have been challenges such as housing inventory shortages, the buying craze during COVID-19, the recent increase in mortgage rates, etc.) However, it is during these times when we can rise to the challenge and increase in market share as you stay consistent and confident in your daily practices,
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Mortgage Advisor, I help my clients with the financing of a mortgage loan. For me, experience is everything! From the initial consultation call with the client to the signing on closing day and beyond, I strive to create lasting impressions, both personally and professionally. I aim to create strong communities, both inside the team and throughout the community. I always prioritize the needs of referral partners and work side-by-side to assist in growth and team structure. I value the relationships that I have built both with referral agents and with my clients throughout each transaction by cultivating trust and finding solutions for everyone. In addition, it is important that I meet people where they are on their journey and personalize the interactions to their specific needs. Some people might not be quite ready to purchase and that is okay. We will get a game plan created for them to be able to reach their dream of homeownership. Education is also key. Many people don’t realize that you can purchase a home with a lower down payment. They are not aware of the array of loan products that are available or even how to build credit. My goal is to grow with my clients, to be their lender for life, and to see them WIN when it comes to their homeownership goals and financial health.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
The success of my career is due to hard work, continuing to be a student of the mortgage industry, coaching, treating others as I would want myself and/or my family to be treated, and my faith in the Lord. My tasks are completed on purpose for a purpose. Reaching my goals requires the discipline of habits, daily structure, mindset, taking care of myself (spirit, soul, and body), and true authenticity.
