Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Pappas.
Hi Bill, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a collector since the age of 8. I began dealing in the hobby at age 18. I opened my first store in 1992 while working a full-time job. I later shut down due to my regular job. I reopened in 2007, retired from my full-time job in 2012, and this became my full-time business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was rough trying to work a full-time job, juggle a Family, and a second somewhat full-time job. It became much easier after I retired from my main job to concentrate on my passion.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the owner and operator of my comic bookstore. We specialize in new and vintage comic books, toys, and related. We carry the largest selection of current-release titles and an abundant inventory of vintage comic books from all eras. I am very proud of the work and effort I and my Friends have put into my business to make us tops in our area. We have a large selection of hobby-related items in the store as well as another building which could be considered a second store just next door.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I feel our city is making great strides to become a destination place on the map. With The Hall of Fame expanding, we see a lot of out-of-town visitors. I’d love to see more put into the community for smaller business to help more people discover the dream of being a business owner
