Hi Olivia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
In the early days of high school, I began spending time developing my Instagram and posting regularly on the platform, and by the age of 16, I was collaborating with small brands. In exchange for products, I would create content and post it for my audience to engage with. Over the years, I developed my social media craft, got a marketing degree from the University of Cincinnati, and gained a following of over 20,000 people. With all that experience and knowledge, I decided that I wanted to take all of it and apply it to the businesses I love most! Now, I am grateful to work with some of the best businesses in Cincinnati on social media and do exactly what I love and am passionate about for my job. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the early 2010s, someone who was posting on social media regularly was often picked on. However, I never let that stop me from posting makeup and fashion content on my Instagram. It was something I was truly interested in. Then, when I was in the Lindner Business College at the University of Cincinnati, I was always in a sea of males. Often not feeling heard or seen during lectures or group discussions, it slowly became apparent to me I wanted to take things into my own hands. By the time I graduated with my degree, I knew I wanted to start my own social media marketing business in Cincinnati. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Thorn Media Marketing. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Thorn Media Marketing is all about making local businesses be seen by more people. Strengthening their brand image through cohesive content, posting regularly to their page, and engaging with the community that supports them. Participating in these three principles allows for organic growth on their Instagram and allows for the owner to step back and focus on what they do best. 

People often ask me what sets you apart from all the others. For me, the answer is simple: I have been in this space for over 7 years, passionately building my own brand, continuously educating myself to stay relevant on the platform. Now, I want to take all my knowledge and apply it to businesses that need it. 

I am most proud of my business when I see a new testimonial come up on my website. All the hard work and hours implementing changes become worth it when you see a business owner happy with the changes you have made in order to grow their page!

Currently, Thorn Media Marketing has tiers and package options to suit any business and flexibility most other social media managers do not and cannot offer. Our contracts are 31 days long because every month it is important our clients see the growth and content they desire. We do not want them to feel chained to us by a contract, but instead work together because the relationship is valuable and authentic. 

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is waking up on Christmas morning with a beautiful brown bear right next to be in bed. Not only did that mean that Santa was right next to me, but I have an item I will cherish forever. I am lucky enough to say I still have the bear to this very day, and whenever I glance at this stuffed animal, it truly warms my heart.
