Hi Taylor, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
About 2 years ago, I took over the business from my dad, who started it back in 2009. Originally, I did it just for fun after having my daughter, but then it turned into so much more than that. I found a passion for creating non-toxic candles that are safe for you, your family, and pets! I truly love making every candle, and they are all poured with love right in my tiny kitchen. Fast forward to after having my second baby, I decided I wanted to go PRN as a registered nurse to stay home with the kids more and to focus on making candles and being a birth doula. Since then, I have released a few more products, grown my inventory and clientele! My heart has never been so full with all the love and support I have received since then. It truly means more than you know!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It most definitely has not always been a smooth road. Lots of trial and error with products, scents, the website, etc. Plus, making the decision to leave my full time was hard.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make nontoxic candles, wax melts, and other products. My main focus is creating products for people that are non-toxic and yet still smell good! I really pride myself on making them safe for everyone and using USA-made products, all the way down to my labels. My candles are hand-poured right in my tiny kitchen with love. I believe what sets us apart from others is our quality in the candles and price. Keeping it affordable for people as much as possible but still giving a luxury scent.
What’s next?
We have some new products we want to roll out this year as well as candle classes! We’re super excited to launch this and have had a really positive response. One day I would love to have a storefront and studio to incorporate hosting classes myself, but in the meantime, you can shop us online and some stores. Soon we will also be in my family’s new winery, Daydream Farm Winery opening in August!
