Today we’d like to introduce you to Alanna Hicks.
Hi Alanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My creative journey began during the COVID-19 quarantine. With ample time on my hands, I decided to explore my artistic side and dove into various creative pursuits. It was during this period of isolation and self-reflection that I discovered my passion for music, photography, modeling, and other creative outlets.
As I started my creative endeavors, I faced self-doubt and received advice from well-meaning individuals who offered their opinions and suggestions. However, I realized that it was essential for me to trust my own instincts and carve my own path. Instead of following a pre-determined formula or conforming to others’ expectations, I embraced the freedom to make my own mistakes and learn from them. By pushing past the noise and trusting my instincts, I have paved my own path in the creative world. I have found a sense of fulfillment and joy in my work, and I am excited to see where my creative journey takes me next.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road in my creative career, and I am glad. Some of the obstacles I’ve pushed past have helped me grow exponentially as a creative and most importantly as a person. Those obstacles include self-doubt, comparisons, no idea what my next step will be, and so much more.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In addition to my creative pursuits, I also work as a sales and social media manager. In this role, I take on the responsibility of creating and managing content calendars for various clients’ social media pages. This involves planning and scheduling posts, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence on social media platforms.
As a sales manager, I lead sales meetings, where I present and promote products or services to potential clients. I utilize my communication and negotiation skills to build relationships, address client needs, and close sales deals.
In the realm of social media management, I not only create and schedule content but also capture the necessary visuals and materials required for clients’ social media pages. This may involve photography, videography, or other forms of content creation to showcase products, services, or events.
Overall, my work involves a combination of creativity, organizational skills, and business acumen. By effectively managing social media content and leading sales efforts, I contribute to the success of businesses and help them establish a strong online presence.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
In my life and business, luck has played a relatively minor role compared to the blessings and opportunities that have come my way. I attribute my achievements more to the recognition and support I have received from respected artists and the fortunate circumstances that have presented themselves.
I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way, including the recognition and validation from esteemed individuals in the industry. Their support has opened doors and provided me with valuable connections and experiences that have propelled my career forward.
Even when faced with what may seem like “bad luck,” I choose to see it as a learning experience. Every setback or challenge presents an opportunity for growth and self-improvement. Embracing these moments of adversity has allowed me to become more resilient, adaptable, and knowledgeable in navigating the ups and downs of my creative journey.
