Exploring Life & Business with Mason Friesner of Photo Op

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mason Friesner.

Mason Friesner

Hi Mason, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I knew since high school I’ve always wanted to own or run a business. Since I was 18, I’ve been on my own working full time and going to school full time. So, I set a goal for myself that I would own my own business by 21. I started with pressure washing, but I decided to bail after a good friend of mine wanted to sell his business. After some thought and talks with my wife, we decided to buy it! So as of February 2023, I am the proud owner of a Photo Booth rental company at 21! I couldn’t have done this without the support of my friends and family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning a business at 21 has had some challenges, but it mostly has to do with balancing my life. I’m currently still working full time and full-time school with the business. My wife has been a big help with supporting me and the business! As of today, we are still growing our client base, and have going smooth so far! Some struggles occurred in the beginning when I bought it. I wanted to convert to online booking from books and paper. That took a couple of months, but now we are fully functional online. Also upgrading some equipment as well was a must need in the beginning.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am currently the owner of Photo Op; we are a photo booth rental company. We are like traditional photo booths where we print on the spot but with an open concept instead of sit down. Our technology is newer, and our equipment is slim and portable. What sets us apart from other photo booth companies is that some of the new booths just send it to your phone. Ours can do both; after the event we can export pictures any way you want! We also set up and run the booth for your event, adding that extra level of customer service.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by whether or not our clients are satisfied and happy with how we ran our booth at the event. If we can succeed at that, I believe everything else will fall into place.
