Exploring Life & Business with Brandon Sims of B.Visions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Sims.

Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always played around with the video camera as a kid recording myself playing basketball and random stuff in the neighborhood and school. I started making slideshows from my cousins’ birthday parties. Social media wasn’t a big thing at the time, so I never seen a future in what I was doing. I never knew I was actually editing. After I graduated, I never really picked up a camera again. As I got a little older, I started working this 12-hour job, and it was pretty easy I use to just sit there and think like I have to get out of here I got way more talent and ideas that I’m not using. As YouTube got bigger, I started to see a lot of music videos, and I was seeing all they were using and it was cheap 600-dollar cameras, so I did all the research on what I needed, what editing software, how to use the software, etc. I talked to people all day at work about what I was about to start doing with videography. I started out recording a friend of mine Trey. I worked with. He coached a football team. He gave me the name B.Visions. I recorded everything for him with my phone at the time. I eventually got a camera I started shooting music videos for my cousin. From there, I just been going and going. Weddings, Music Videos, commercials, Vlogs, everything. I wake every day doing this and go to sleep doing. I quit my job about 5-6 years ago, and I’ve been going ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, things have been pretty smooth; it’s been a few bumps in the road but nothing that ever made me want to quit.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about B.Visions?
My name is B.Visions. I’m a videographer from Toledo, Ohio. I’ve been in business about 2017. I shoot music videos, weddings, Event recaps, vlogs, commercials pretty much any you want recorded I can do it I feel like that sets me apart from other videographers in the city… I’m proud of the diverse groups and ages that are familiar with my work.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
Yes, I believe in risk-taking. Me quitting my job I was at for 10 years was a big one. As my name was getting bigger, I was missing a lot of opportunities cause we worked every other weekend. I’m always real with myself with any decisions I have to make and just knew I could make it work. When I quit, I wasn’t quite sure I made the right decision, but I was happy for sure, and I had all the time I needed to make it work.
