Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Griesheimer.
Daniel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got my start in the film industry when I moved out to Las Angeles in 2011. I lived and worked there for about two years before returning home and met a lot of memorable celebrities through various events. Though my time there was cut short as I returned home to attend to my father before he passed away, I decided to remain in my hometown and create my own version of Hollywood right here in Ohio.
Since my return home, one of my primary goals was to build a network for local artists of various talents to be able to come together for the common purpose of creating something noteworthy right here in Chillicothe. Then in 2021, Ohio Creations LLC was officially born. Since then, I have been building the business to align with the mission I set for it; To be the perfect start for local art. I enjoy bringing my focus to creating films right here in Ross County. My local community is incredibly supportive, including the local businesses who allow us to utilize their spaces for film locations and I love giving back to that by showing our audiences what beautiful things can be created or seen right here in our small town.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our road along the highway to progress has been as smooth as the mountains of Ross County. That is to say, I have faced, overcome, and sometimes temporarily defeated by various challenges to get this far. One of our primary setbacks, in the beginning, started as my team and I prepared to shoot a feature-length film just as COVID-19 shut down all non-essential businesses and activities. Though it delayed some of our pacing, the whole team was able to persevere and safely finish the film by the end of 2022, where we got to have our triumphant celebration at the premiere.
Beyond the scope of the troubles most film crews had faced during the pandemic, I have been learning something new with every film production and set I get the opportunity to be a part of. There are so many tokens of wisdom that filmmakers before me have graciously passed down that I have been honored to learn through experience. I think some of the best practices I have learned through the struggles a person can experience on a film set display the importance of flexibility and creative, critical thinking to solve the various issues that can pop up on set.

Ohio Creations is an independent film production company based in the heart of Ross County. We specialize in uniting with our local community to bring more creative opportunities to local talent as well as local businesses. We do this by creating films with captivating storylines. Our goal is to bring more attention to the wonderful things Chillicothe has to offer, and there’s no better way to show that than through the scope of a camera lens and powerful stories.
Our biggest achievements include several film and screenwriting nominations & awards based on the talented work that our local artists have contributed into our films. I feel this is what sets Ohio Creations apart from some of the other production companies; our primary mission is to serve our community and its members. As we grow, we can bring more and more Ohio communities together to show everyone that you don’t need to leave your hometown to live out Hollywood dreams.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up as the third born out of four siblings. If someone would’ve told my parents that I was going to end up becoming an actor and a filmmaker, they would’ve thought it was a lie. Though I was energetic, I often channeled that energy into becoming the daily entertainment for my family and friends. I remember always having an interest in being in front of and directing film productions throughout my younger days. My friends and I would often grab the old family tape recorder and film fake news segments in ridiculous British accents. I’m pleased to say my British accent has indeed improved since those old tapes.
