Meet Bizzy Burk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bizzy Burk.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started with some friends, not thinking too deep into it. Went to jail, had a lot on my mind. So, in jail, I decided to write some stuff down. I got released and never wanted to go back; I used my music as a release to stay out of trouble. Instead of going to parties, I stayed home and messed with beats and lyrics in my room. I had a jank laptop my sister gave me but that never stopped me. I eventually dropped my first mixtape in July of 2016. Then started booking shows with other local artists. Which opened up my horizon to doing shows with rappers such as Lil Tjay, Caskey, King Louie, Doobie, etc. I have dropped 7 projects since I started and have grown my platform in the past 7 years. This is my hobby, but it is also my passion.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not. I have come across a lot of trials and tribulations. I have met a lot of amazing people along the way, and for that I’m thankful. But this is not for a weak-minded person. There is so much more to rapping and making music than getting on a stage and saying some lyrics. Starting with the laptop, I started with was a huge struggle, coming freshly out of jail and having nothing but having my dream to become something more was just one of many. The quality of the beats and finding a decent beat was hard in the beginning. Learning all the programs to mix and getting the sound right, trying to do it all myself without anyone, and rushing to get something released was extremely stressful. But once you get that down, it all comes together piece by piece. Learning your good promoters of venues, from the sketchy ones is another big struggle.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a local artist from Indianapolis. I’m known for being Bizzy Burk. I am known for my single “317 Stunner Flow”. I am most proud of my music. I create music that I am passionate about. I tell the truth in my songs, write lyrics about where I came from and where I am today. I make music for everyone to have fun with, turn up with their friends, and beats everyone enjoys. I’m different by doing things my way, I do not follow anyone or how they do their music.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I’m very humble, I am optimistic that, hopefully in the future my music will hit the right audience and one day I can hear myself on the radio. Giving people the enjoyment of my music the way it gives to myself.
