Inspiring Conversations with Tyeshia Davis of Talley Sweets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyeshia Davis.

Hi Tyeshia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I originally started baking at 12 with my grandparents and fell in love with it. I loved how creating desserts brought people joy. As I got older, I realized that baking people happy (what I called it), while being creative is what I truly wanted to do. I started baking for my coworkers, and my business just grew from there.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been smooth at all. As Talley Sweets grew, it became a struggle to keep up with orders while having a high-risk pregnancy and working full-time on 3rd shift. More recently, some struggles have been growing Talley Sweets to a larger scale and adding shipping.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Talley Sweets LLC?
We are a passion-driven company that originated in Cleveland, Ohio. We specialize in custom desserts and treats. Every order has a little something special that fits each individual customer. I am most proud of the happiness we consistently deliver to our customers. I want people to know that Talley Sweets is a unique family-oriented business and that we strive to deliver fresh, high-quality desserts. We not only create custom cakes, but we also offer catering for larger events.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I view everything that as either a blessing or a lesson. I have worked very hard to be where I am. Any shortcomings I’ve had are considered as lessons. No matter good or bad, I’m enjoying this journey.
