Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Stuhlreyer.
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
The Millcroft Gallery opened in December 2022. We specialize in contemporary artwork and represent emerging as well as established artists mostly from the Midwest but also from both the east and west coasts. The gallery provides artists a beautiful setting to display their work and the collectors the ability to comfortably view new works to add to their collections. The gallery and event center is located in the heart of downtown Milford in the historic Millcroft Inn. We are located on the second floor above Cincinnati Distilling. The gallery is owned by Jennifer Stuhlreyer and managed by Nikki Palmer.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We opened later than planned with slower construction due to the pandemic. Opening an art gallery in the best of times can be a challenge, so we knew we might have a slower start than we originally anticipated. We had a great opening month and have had steady sales and new artists joining our ranks ever since.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Our gallery is set inside a collection of other businesses called The Millcroft Collective. We are also an event center and have hosted wedding receptions, engagement parties, holiday parties, and professional events. We have a museum with items found during construction and historic pieces starting from the 1800s to present day. We collaborate monthly with Cincinnati Distilling to host Art dinners. These vary with bourbon/whiskey, wine, and beer pairings. We celebrate our artists with Q & A sessions between courses and have chefs talk about the food pairings, and the beverages offered are always unique and delicious. We also have a rooftop bar, Cooper Island Rum Bar, and Nation Kitchen in the building as well as a bottle shop to purchase all Cincinnati Distilling items. We have art for sale sprinkled around the building to invite people to come see more on the second floor!
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We are open Wednesday-Friday 12-5 and Saturdays 11-4. You are always welcome to browse the gallery anytime the restaurants in the building are open. We have our contact information on every piece of art.
