Daily Inspiration: Meet Elizabeth Neeb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Neeb.

Hi Elizabeth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Cookies by Lizzie started as my passion for baking and bringing a smile to people’s faces through my baked goods. I soon after got intrigued by the business side of things and enjoyed the financial freedom it gave me as a high school student; getting to decorate fun-themed cookies was way more fun than babysitting in my opinion. From there, my cookies’ popularity grew from word of mouth and Parent Facebook groups. I soon began having popup shops across the city and serving clients’ needs all across Cincinnati. During COVID, I had even more success creating a new DIY Cookie Kit each week to keep kids entertained and creative at home during the shutdown. Cookies by Lizzie, while a fun creative outlet that produced delicious desserts, has been my outlet to inspire others to get creative, no matter what age, and follow your dreams.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have been blessed by an awesome support system in the foundation of my business. From my high school soccer team to my all-girl’s school open houses, everyone in my life was super supportive of my ventures. I even bribed my sisters to help out a time or two ;). I think the biggest struggle I encountered, other than overworking myself from time to time, was COVID. Although I must say, it ended up being my most successful year after the hits of my weekly decorating kits.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Cookies by Lizzie specializes in Vanilla/Almond flavored sugar cookies. They are made custom for every client to match their event to the smallest detail: font, color, logos, etc. I am known for having beautifully decorated and packaged cookies that are almost too pretty to eat (but too delicious not to!). I also do cookie decorating classes/ private parties, as well as partnerships and popups across the city. I think though, what really sets me apart, is how young I am and how much I was able to accomplish at such a young age. I was doing upwards of 20 dozen custom cookies a week, on top of being a high school student

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, the first profession I ever dreamed of becoming was an artist. And to an extent, I would say I accomplished that goal. I always had new ideas as a child, telling my mom “I have a big idea.” A bossy older sister, I have always loved being independent and trying new hobbies til one sticks / I fall in love with it.
